I sound like a broken record with how much I express my frustration with the Sonic franchise but thats because Sonic is different now. Its really unfortunate that people see criticism as hate or being ungrateful. I criticize the franchise because I know it can be better. I want to see Cream making flower crowns for people to make them feel better, I want to see Blaze's world being explored or how she grew up, I want to see Knuckles in Angel Island and see what it's like in his shoes - bring back his brotherly rivalry with Sonic and NOT Shadow - I want to see Amy as sassy as she was. All of these characters can do so much. Its not just the characters either, the gameplay and story. I feel like the boost formula ruins the immersion. Adventure style was more so exploring the environment and using your abilities to reach higher areas with momentum. I think boost would work well in things like special stages while adventure would work really well in open worlds- especially now that Sonic Team is focusing on open world with Sonic. Im more of a lore person than gameplay but gameplay does matter most because it is a game and it needs to be fun to sell lol - but in general, adventure works best. You get immersed into the world around you as you explore the area and have fluid movement - instead of one and go while holding the boost button.
