if you're starting animation, I'd encourage you to not go down the path of grind and no play as I did.
Ideally you should practice and play. Ironically you learn more if you actually enjoy the process.
And art is not a competition, focus on your own journey not others.

@Flying_Pand4 That’s me currently lol, I especially love going through other animators layouts and genga. Think it can be easier to understand LO artists work better without the compositing

I had a phase where everyday, the first thing I did was open Sakugabooru and look at a specific animator. Essential for any animator.

i don’t mean this in a mean way: i hope most american animation artists and designers are exploring sakugabooru you can look up clips from lots of anime, and many more animations from outside japan — and even down to the particular artist that drew your favorite parts!

some people have no decency and respect. i was waiting for the usual bus on the way home,
the line was super long and groups of people started cutting in

@Soup_Underscore Though I feel some people forget the difference between constructive self cnc and bashing themselves for not being as good as they feel they have to be.

@Soup_Underscore Yeaa I agree, I think it’s great to set goals for ourselves and to get excited to work harder towards our passion. I also think it is ok to point out where we go wrong.

@SheerKuga You need to pat yourself on the back for the effort you do make. Or else no amount of improve will satisfy you in the long run and you’ll always be miserable. Building confidence like this can do wonders for improvement, including your health which is more important then work.

@SheerKuga That’s not the point I was making. You should always be making a constant effort to find what you are lacking so you can improve in those areas.
