Laptops were only available to children who has a social worker, not all children in need. You may find that a lot of local authorities still have surplus from the rollout in the last Pandemic.

Tory after tory standing in the commons saying that all the kids in their areas have laptops provided means 1 of 3 things, 1)they have had preferential treatment over schools in our areas, 2)they haven't actually checked with them 3)they are lying.

@GMB - the Government (DfE) made £millions worth of laptop available for children in the last lockdown. The problem is the children have to have a social worker.. so If u r just poor u won’t get one. 1000s of these laptops r siting in LA’s cupboards doing nothing! Elaine, SW
