I wanted us to watch it together, and now there is actually a way that we can do that. (Thanks for the suggestion, @SchleiderJustin!) It’s called Netflix Party and it is a Google Chrome Extension. Here’s more information about Netflix Party. #ClearTheAiryoutu.be/Rx4XZpbnFig
@sheathescholar Took it about 10 years ago 😬 I did well with the vocab (lots of it) and had anxiety about anything related to math. I was in a study group & that helped but now Covid 😕 Maybe an online study group 🤔 I didn’t buy those crazy expensive study guides either. You can do it!! 👍🏽
remember during Akeelah and the Bee when her mom tells her she's got 50,000 coaches and all of the neighborhood helps her study for the spelling bee?
well - this is my neighborhood and I expect all y'all English teachers and Math teachers to help me prepare for the GRE.
Dear Highland Park,
How do you plan on supporting the black community when you’re erasing the brown community?
i love the murals y’all are painting on York! But how do you plan on uplifting black and brown communities while gentrifying them?
Understanding that a Title 1 designation indicates a school is in a High Poverty zone I am curious as to why some teachers feel they need that in their bio on Twitter or even in their name. This is not a thing in Canada that I know of so I am curious.
@MsBteacherlady Reflecting on my teaching: have a heavy 💔 & a head whirling with ideas. Started a to do list. It’ll require learning, reflecting, careful & deliberate planning. “I am an educator and as an educator it is my business to lead people out of ignorance...” Starting with myself.
It’s funny when you speak to non-teacher friends they get the idea of a work free summer. It’s my time to plan, reflect, and prepare.
So what’s your plan? What’s a deliberate way you can promote tolerance in Fall? Let’s figure it out. #planfortolerance#antiracism
@Gameboydrew We talked about it today during our Zoom. No complaints yet. I teach 4th grade too. What gets me is teachers who think this isn’t applicable to them 🤦🏽♀️ So many excuses. Well, here we are. Why? Because history repeats itself. #BlackLivesMatter#remoteteaching#utlanow#peace#love
@MayorOfLA Many people in the gated community we live in believe none of your mandates for public safety applies to them. Some ask in the @NeighborhoodApp if this applies to them. Many of them also go on their walks, runs, and bike rides with no face covers. People need clarification.
A citywide curfew will be in place tonight to protect everyone’s safety and help first responders keep the peace. The curfew requires people in the City of L.A. to stay indoors between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Exceptions are for emergency responders and those going to and from work.
@Mayestrah@Savvy_Educator@socialstudiestx@NCSSNetwork@EdfluencerU@Gilder_Lehrman I totally forgot about this speech when Dr. King discusses the economic inequities that are consuming and tearing apart America. Thank you for reminding me of this!! Great way to discuss and put the context of the Minneapolis riots to that is the Detroit Riots.
🗣Calling All History teachers: I am designing instructional units focusing on the theme of The Minneapolist Riots, the countless murders of African Americans+ #GeorgeFloyd & existing inequities. Have some Essential Ques? @socialstudiestx@NCSSNetwork@EdfluencerU@Gilder_Lehrman
'A riot is the language of the unheard': MLK's powerful quote resonates amid George Floyd protests - my heart is breaking 😔 usatoday.com/story/news/nat…
Every time I post about race two days in a row I lose followers fast
And I always think: who followed me not knowing what they were getting into? It’s all there in the banner! 🤷🏻♂️
@Maire_from_NJ@MoniseLSeward Our district is looking at a 45 page document with guidelines to reopen. I’m preparing for Blended Learning. We’ll see what happens. These are crazy times and this pandemic has brought out A LOT of issues in education. Let’s hope for the best 🤞🏽
