Funsho Williams did not abandon his ambition to become governor after Pa Adesanya appealed to him to step down for Tinubu in December 1998.
With Obasanjo as president, Funsho decamped to the PDP. At that point, he became a greater political danger to the Lagos establishment.
Meanwhile, Tinubu had already clashed with his deputy, Mrs. Kofo Akerele-Bucknor, a strong force in the AD, and had pushed the House to impeach her. This political misstep angered indigenous Lagosians, who saw Princess Bucknor as a representative of their enlightened interests.
The grand scheme was to ensure that no Tinubu protégé would come near Lagos House again, and Funsho Williams was prepared to take up the mantle in 2007.
The forces had gathered to sweep Tinubu’s looming influence from Lagos politics, but suddenly, Funsho Williams was murd@d in his Ikoyi residence.

Many people do not know that Bola Tinubu did not actually win the 1998 AD gubernatorial primaries in Lagos. The primary election was won by Funsho Williams. Following the intervention of Chief Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Abraham Adesanya, who reviewed the results in Tinubu’s favour and resolved disputes arising from Ikorodu and Lagos Mainland, Funsho Williams stepped down for Tinubu.

“What is happening in Nigeria today is like the Indian proverb that says: If somebody is really sleeping, you can easily wake that person up, but if a person is pretending to sleep, it is difficult to wake that person up.
The key actors in Nigeria, from the Executive to the Legislature and the Judiciary, know the correct thing to do, but they are refusing to do it. They are pretending to sleep, and waking up such people is extremely difficult, because they know the right thing to do.
There is a clear abuse of power, a clear abuse of privileges cutting across the three arms of government. What they don’t know is that whatever we do affects everybody. No country brings its investments to a country whose judiciary is compromised.
Why is our passport not valued abroad? Why are Nigerians not given the kind of treatment they are supposed to receive at international airports?
What our leaders don’t know is that whatever decision is taken by the Executive arm of government, and the decisions taken by the Parliament and the Judiciary, affect everybody.
For example, no businessman will bring his money to invest in a country where the judiciary is compromised, where a government functionary can dictate to judges what judgment they will give.
Nobody will bring his money to invest in such an economy, because you are taking a big risk.”
—President Goodluck Jonathan.

If you watched this game well, Southampton played the exact same blueprint Pep used vs Arsenal in the Carabao cup final.
Four men up front.
No pressing.
Because Arsenal have no midfielder who can actually progress the ball. They switch to long throws and sideways passing. Which can be intercepted easily.
Pep might have just figured Arteta out.

Superbook was that classic Christian kids cartoon produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) back in 1981.
Many of us grew up watching it in the early 90s on NTA, and later on AIT every Sunday morning.
The series followed a mysterious glowing book that would open a portal and whisk three friends Chris, Joy, and the robot Gizmo straight into the Bible. They’d witness epic stories from the Old and New Testaments, learning powerful moral lessons that perfectly matched the real-life problems they faced.
Were you there?
