It’s truly an honor to serve as your Mayor, and today I am announcing my campaign for re-election this November. When I joined City Council, I made a commitment to keep League City moving forward while protecting the quality of life that makes our community so special. Over the past 12 years, we have worked together to cut the property tax rate, delivering nearly a 40% reduction in the overall property tax rate, while also strengthening public safety by adding more police officers and first responders, investing in critical drainage and infrastructure, and ensuring new development pays its own way without placing the burden on existing taxpayers. League City is my hometown, and I am proud of all we have accomplished together. But our work is not finished. As we continue to grow, we must stay focused on protecting what makes our community special, our families, our businesses, and the quality of life we all value. I would be honored to have your support and humbly ask for your vote so we can continue building a stronger League City!

I’m proud to endorse Sean Doyle for League City Council. Sean is a family man with a strong business background who understands that the decisions made at City Hall directly impact the families, homeowners, and businesses that make League City such a great place to live. He will be a strong advocate for lowering property taxes, improving drainage, and investing in the infrastructure our growing community needs. Is Elon Musk the same guy that had the nerve to move all his incredibly successful businesses to Texas, while at the same time investing billions in the state and creating countless high paying jobs, including many blue collar ones? Why would Abbott want to be associated with someone like that?

NEW: According to campaign finance reports, Elon Musk gave $500K to Gov. Greg Abbott's reelection campaign.

The Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District (GCCDD) refuses to take care of the drainage easements they own, and their negligence is leading to flooding of League City residents in Westover Park. These are residents that pay the GCCDD taxes, and get nothing in return. Since the GCCDD is unwilling to fulfill their only duty to their taxpayers (maintaining drainage), the City of League City will step up and do it for them. Despite GCCDD owning the drainage easement, League City has worked out a deal with a surrounding landowner to access the property and begin to fix the problem. Our residents don’t have time for the political games and incompetence of an entity like the GCCDD who only cares about providing government-funded health insurance and increasing yearly pay for board members. These are the same board members who use foul language in public meetings to describe the League City taxpayers. Once again, the GCCDD is double taxing League City Residents, failing to do their job, and proving that they are an unnecessary governmental entity.

Another incredible July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza is in the books! It was wonderful to see so many League City families and friends come together to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Nights like these remind us what makes our community and the United States so special. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible, and to everyone who came out to celebrate. Happy Independence Day, League City!

What is the deal with playing “Country Roads” after the USA World Cup victory against BIH in Santa Clara, CA? How/why did that song become a sports anthem?

@lyndonbajohnson That is silly. The best thing that could happen to all these towns is virtual work. It will allow people to have jobs that traditionally required them to be in a big city to do them in a rural setting. This model is spreading fast over the last few years.

I applaud the County for expanding mental health treatment options. The City’s newly established Mental Health Officers are working to make sure vulnerable people in our community that need this service have access.
