@mayes_middleton If it’s inappropriate for a public meeting it is definitely inappropriate for the children’s section

Children should never be exposed to obscene pornographic material. It’s why I fought to change the law to be able to prosecute those exposing our kids to this trash, and why as AG I’ll fight every day to make sure every last page of obscene materials are eradicated from Texas schools. We are in a spiritual battle to protect Texas kids.

🧵Tonight, myself, Pastor Rick Scarborough, Vanessa Sivadge, and Bonnie Wallace spoke at the Houston ISD Board Meeting to raise awareness about the sexually explicit content available to minors in HISD schools. For those outside of TX, HISD is the largest school district in TX with over 183K students. We each had 1 min to speak. I realized half way through that I was not going to finish my statement, and I had also planned to read from a book called “The Haters”, which is found in 7 HISD High Schools. It is an AWFUL book with 196 F BOMBS! My sweet friend Bonnie Wallace spoke ahead of me, & tried to read aloud from one of the filthy books. She was not allowed to do so by the board, & WAS ESCORTED OUT OF THE MEETING BY POLICE. What an upside down world we live in that we can’t read the filth to a room full of ADULTS, but it’s perfectly fine to put it in front of MINORS WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. 🤯 I’ll put in the comments my statement that I had planned to read to the HISD Board if given the chance, and the other videos. Bottom line, we MUST take action to protect our children from harmful content whether it’s social media, movies, music or BOOKS! They deserve the BEST literature possible…not filth. And, as I said in my statement to HISD, following the law is a requirement…not a suggestion. ⚖️ @Moms4Liberty @TinaDescovich @V_Sivadge @cslape @mamaknowsbooks @momofnell @M4LHaysCoTx @M4LWilCoTX @Moms4LibertyGC @drbone4tx @2fight4liberty @CMooreFreedom @ShanaSFuller @captivating_21 @OccupyLibraries @TexasEd911 @TxEdStrategies @GregAbbott_TX @KenPaxtonTX @SteveTothTX @realmitchlittle @houston_cf @RAPHOOPTX @libsoftiktok @REVWUTRUTH @Rebecca_LPC @Bentley4Texas @ZebraStrongMama @nicolle99953150 @DeskofMattCone @RealRichardVega @paigered3 @htxkidsfirst @DanPatrick @robbystarbuck @bennyjohnson @kellyske @PriscillaWest77 @JulieABehling @JackPosobiec @QueenAnticommie @RealGemBalboa @SteveLovesAmmo @HonShawnThierry @ManoForTexas @MaryBowdenMD @MoCoAdvocate @Julie4TX @Nelsontiffanyb @HoustonISD

This is a show me don’t tell me business. It was a tough fight, but I got this change in the law done. Billions in tax $ will no longer be wasted on soda and candy, taxpayer funded junk food turns into taxpayer funded healthcare.
News 4 San Antonio@News4SA

Starting April 1, Texans using SNAP benefits — the Lone Star Card — will no longer be able to use those taxpayer-funded dollars to buy soda, candy, sugary drinks, or energy drinks. bit.ly/3Pd1LvX Texas distributes roughly $7 billion a year in SNAP benefits statewide.

The RINO Austin swamp PAC @ARTxPAC threw $200k of dishonest attack mail at @sbwnhtx But principle, character, decency, and hard work won BIG in HD 129. 👊🇺🇸🔥 Scott was the hardest working state House candidate this cycle and he's going to keep working tirelessly to make sure Republicans turn out for the general.  On to November!

@SenSanders He didn’t get all that money by being a bad businessman. I’m sure if those people helped the business he would have kept them.

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff. Democracy dies in oligarchy.

Many local small businesses can’t even bid on these jobs because the system is so difficult to navigate and the barriers to entry are too high. Thus only a handful of specialized firms submit bids and they know they can artificially inflate the price. Government good intentions creates these artificially high prices that the taxpayers must swallow.

Last night at our council meeting I pulled an item on our pool tiling (months behind) to highlight a bigger problem. Local governments can’t get reasonable bids. A $5k handyman job turns into $50k and drags on for months due to excessive bidding, insurance, and labor mandates that come down from Sacramento and are out of local control. This is why taxpayers get fleeced - paying 10x for basic projects.

Under @MayorNickLong's leadership, League City, TX is inspiring the next generation through its “Mayor for the Day” program, giving local students a hands-on look at how city government really works. From starting the City Council meeting to meeting department leaders, students are learning civics by doing.

Freezing temperatures could arrive in League City as early as tomorrow morning. Residents are encouraged to prepare by following the 4 Ps: Pipes, People, Pets, and Plants. City officials are closely monitoring this cold weather event and will continue doing so throughout the weekend, with rain possible into Sunday and the potential for freezing temperatures Sunday through Tuesday morning. The @LeagueCityTX Emergency Management team and all city departments are fully prepared to respond as needed. Public Works will be available for cold-weather issues such as frozen streets or broken water lines and can be reached at 281-554-1150. Crews will also monitor roadway conditions and treat areas as necessary. Dispatch, police, EMS, and the volunteer fire department are ensuring full staffing and uninterrupted operations. The Library and Hometown Hero’s will remain open during normal hours, and for anyone needing a safe place after hours, the jail lobby will remain open and accessible.
Galveston County OEM@galvcountyoem

The most recent forecasts from the US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas show a slight increased chance of freezing rain accumulation. This will primarily impact roadways during the Sunday evening through Monday morning time period.

“The Building Texas Show” recently had me on their show to talk about how @LeagueCityTX is planning for the future and managing our growth without making existing residents bear the burden. It was a great conversation, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share the example that our community is setting for the rest of Texas.
