Mayor Lucas on the proposed federal detention center for Face the Nation: "Converting a gigantic distribution facility into a warehouse for 10,000 people for which it was never designed is not right, and it is fundamentally something that is inhumane."

On Tuesday, the Kansas City Council Finance Committee will discuss important public safety issues at a 6PM meeting at the Plaza Library. Attached are some graphics on recent years budgeting and public safety and PD hiring trends. Much discussion ahead this week.
