The intersection at Hertel Ave. & Military Rd. is now open in all directions. Thank you to the Department of Public Works for getting this area operational within 48 hours of the major water main break.

I’m relieved that Mr. Huseynov has been released and reunited with his family. His detention should never have happened. It underscores that the federal government’s enforcement actions continue to sweep up people who pose no threat and are contributing members of our community.

Today, I signed my first executive order as Mayor — which was to formally reaffirm what Buffalo has long believed: our City government should never be used to intimidate or target people based on where they’re from.
