Lol I totally understand a more casual/sim style approach to the game. I just think in competitive online modes like ranked or MUT this is going to be a lot more common. We're in the age of information with the internet, so people are able to learn best practices for everything, not just comp gaming. Offline modes, sim leagues in franchise are more tailored to the sim style of play

It’s just a symptom of a larger communal issue around gameplay and what would be deemed “scummy” or an “abusive meta”. Of course there’s a counter to everything and a guy could watch YT or subscribe to one of the hundreds of EBook sites out there but some of us players are so blackpilled on the state of the game that doing so lowers us in a way. Like stooping to a level gameplay wise we wouldn’t be proud of. We like to punch upwards, staying away from running the Meta Blitz’s or Bunch. There’s a certain stubborn nobility in avoiding the gameplay stigma that comes with joining an E-Community or EBook Discord Server. Essentially we like our Nokia Brick Phones, New Balances and you kids should stay off our lawns…

Prime example of why EBook Merchants are just as responsible as EA for the state of the game..

I understand people don’t adjust if they don’t have to, but that’s usually because the player they are playing is not very good and doesn’t know what they’re doing. For example you can’t run mid blitz every play against a good player. A bad player would call it an unstoppable cheese play

Is the argument players should only play sim style online? The only reason I like Madden is because of the competitive nature of the game online

This is the issue. People who have e books/use will always defend them until they are blue in the face. Since reading comprehension is hard, I never said it was for me. I said the average player. I speak for the masses of people, not just the 1% who watch YouTube/ Twitch etc.

@DaTruthYaDig My issue is the ones I play who are very clearly not good. i.e. bad users, no gap shoots, etc. They can just hover the d line and insta shed. Obviously the onus lies on us to beat it, just frustrating. Without those schemes they'd be getting swamped

Do you think ebooks teaching chess tactics and the most effective openings are bad for chess as well? Those who put time in to study get better. The concepts taught in ebooks aren’t fucking rocket science, but will enable you to beat a player who has no idea what they’re doing. Is your issue too many people are trying too hard to be good at the game? Why must they discover things on their own to be valid? What other competitive endeavor is like that?
