A few of our rockstar front office friends were inducted into the service club this morning! Congratulations to AP Midgette, AP Shipp, and Coach Bunting! 💙🐾 @dmidge@sebastian_shipp@bunting36@DiannKearney
Thought a lot about all of my teacher friends @millbrookmagnet today. Hope your day went well, but I honestly can’t say I wish I had been there. Stay healthy. Love you guys! ❤️
Finally watched the Fear Street Trilogy on Netflix. Thought about mentioning it as I teach The Crucible because of the parallels in part three: 1666. Then it hit me…won’t be teaching The Crucible this year. #stilladjusting
It’s been an affirming and nostalgic 2 weeks. I have finally finished my personal emails to each of the 162 past students who participated in my “Happy Retirement” movie that my family surprised me with on our family vacation. Now on to a new project!
@huntermargaux So excited, but a little shocked. I always thought you were joking when you said that in newspaper class! Math and/or science kicking your butt on the Hill? 😘
Mentally preparing tonight for tomorrow, the last day of my teaching career. Here is my first Millbrook school picture taken in the fall of 1987, and my last taken in the fall of 2020.
It’s 5:00 on a Friday, and only 3 cars are in the parking lot. Typical in many ways, except this is it. I have no keys, I have no badge. It’s the end of an era for me. Hoping that “light and breezy” retired feeling comes soon. Once a Wildcat; always a Wildcat.
@travelwinesun Awww...Nicole, thanks for reaching out. I'm not sure when the tradition of calling me PutPut ceased, but you made me realize how much I miss that! Hope you're doing well.
Thanks to the 4 superstars who showed up to my last in-person class ever! You might ask what you do with your last teachable moment? You play name that tune using YouTube, of course!
After an emotional week, which included my last journalism senior send-off and a long overdue English department gathering, this retirement thing is getting way too real!
