#ProjectHailMary is the perfect movie. It has everything. Ryan Gosling (like Meryl Streep) can do it all. Rocky is the best. No notes.

@a_gonzas I doubt they counted the snippets, otherwise I think it would be significantly higher.

@McBDirect Probably accounting for ads, TikTok, each trailer snippet?

I'll be honest, I think Sony might be cooking the numbers a bit here, cause this would be double the previous highest trailer view count. I wonder if they are counting trailer view counts from more non-official accounts or are counting trailer clips alongside the total views?

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY's trailer has officially become the most-watched trailer in history, garnering 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours of release!

It does, cause the marginal increase in revenue Brand New Day gets from effective marketing is A LOT of money. Of course, it will be a success, but this movie could make anywhere from $1B to $2B+, and where it falls on that line is partially affected by marketing.

@McBDirect Spider-Man doesn’t need that….thats the point. Batman, x men and Spider-Man do not need special marketing. They sell themselves.

You know the people who run Disney are ancient when the pre-roll video before their annual shareholders meeting is just a loop of how to make the stream full screen and to remind people to plug in their computers 💀

@TomABacon I agree that it wasn't as effective as the chairs, BUT I do think it was more effective than most other trailer release stunts I have seen.

@McBDirect Tbh... I don't feel this one's working as well tbh. It's not all over my feed the way the chairs were; I actually didn't notice one clip had released until the one after was out!

@juliadelbel I dont know, you cant do Thanksgiving because the Narnia movie also has IMAX exclusivity (dont know for how long). I think you either have to squeeze it between Thanksgiving and Dune or (unfortunately) wait till May.

Avengers: Doomsday has to move. The audience demographics are too similar for another Barbenheimer situation. I think Doomsday would win the box office fight with Dune, but would still come out worse than if it found its own space on the calendar with IMAX screens

@cedrichouse1994 I shouldn’t have to defend the importance of premium screens for studios in 2026, you can do a few Google searches and very clearly learn how critical they are.

@McBDirect Let's be real, audiences are going to doomsday more than they would dune, if anything dune should move because there basically the red head step child in this situation, dune is a heady syfi which attacks certain audiences, doomsday is every demographic from kid to old

The Pitt episode last night was incredible. The character work they are doing on this show is unrivaled. This season has been a bit slower, as more of the focus has been on the characters than the patients, but that is paying off now as everyone's arcs are coming to a head

The Pitt Season 2 reaches new heights in “4:00 PM,” a thrilling and emotionally draining new episode that captures the series at its very best. Check out our full review: bit.ly/40XoKhg

Movies are different; strong marketing is important for movies, but for TV shows in 2026, it just isn't (and hasn't been for a few years now if you've been paying attention) Only event TV shows (Stranger Things 5) get heavily marketed beforehand; everything else is post-release

There was no marketing for Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and that show was huge. Welcome to Derry grew its audience each week because word of mouth marketing was there. These shows market themselves when they are good, and if they aren't, the marketing is not saving them.
