CMS students participated in book speed dating last week in the LMC! 📚❤️

Keely Parrack visited with our CMS book club on Wednesday afternoon. She treated them to a snippet of her newly published novel. We raffled off her new book to a lucky winner, discussed Don’t Let in the Cold & played a wilderness survival game! Such a fun gathering! 📚☄️

It’s been another busy week in the CMS LMC. Wednesday was World Read Aloud Day. Approximately 50 students attended our virtual author visit from Christina June. Students heard all about her writing career, heard a snippet from one of her books, and asked wonderful questions! 📚☄️

Students learned about and played dreidel in the lmc last week. 📚☄️

Today book club members prepared their favorite “gift” of a book to display in the LMC & because we couldn’t settle on just one book this time, they each chose one of three fantasy titles to read and discuss! They are such a fun, enthusiastic group! 📚☄️

How lucky am I to spend every Tuesday with our Buddies? I have enjoyed watching many friendships form at CMS this semester! ☄️

CMS students had an origami day in the LMC where they learned about the art and made their own creations. 📚☄️

All 16 ELA classes visited the LMC to participate in a literary Halloween breakout activity & book browse activity to select an independent reading novel. It was fun watching the students think critically & work collaboratively. ☄️

“The Council of Readers” CMS book club concluded discussion on The Island by Natasha Preston. Overall consensus = ❤️ However…the ending left us hanging! One of our readers (I mean future authors) took it upon herself to write & share a satisfying conclusion! 😂

Hispanic authors, crafts, Loteria, trivia & Spanish classes visiting the LMC were fun highlights during Hispanic Heritage month at CMS. ☄️📚

It’s a Craft Friday in the LMC! Students enjoy using our button maker and making St. Pat’s Day crafts. ☄️⁦@CMS301⁩
