MGOLF: #McDaniel wins the Dickinson Invite with a program and CC-record round of 276. Ryan McGarry posted a course-record 64, breaking his own program and #CentConf record from earlier in the week. The B-Team fired a 306. Full results coming later. #mcdmgolf #getonthehill

We were led by Ryan McGarry, who posted 68-67 for a stellar 135 to win the individual title. McGarry tied a program record with his 68 on Monday and broke it the next day.

McDaniel Men’s golf took home its first win of the season yesterday. The Green Terror posted a second-round, program-record score of 6-under 282 to finish with a score of 574 and win, coming back from a five-shot deficit after the opening round.

Freshmen Dell Grieser and Matt Messenger had strong showings in their collegiate debuts, shooting 151 and 152 respectively.

McDaniel Men’s Golf finished 2nd in their season opener at the St. John Fisher Invitational over the weekend. McDaniel had four players finish in the individual top ten, led by Ryan McGarry who finished one shot off the individual medalist in solo 2nd. McGarry shot 74-75

Kudos to incoming freshman Dell Grieser for winning the Gettysburg Golf shootout on August 8th and 9th at the Gettysburg National Golf Club in Fairfield, Pa. Dell shot 71-74 three over par over the 36 holes.

Nick Saban on mindset:

Sophomore Ryan Bloomer from Hoosick Falls, NY turned in an impressive showing in the Troy Invitational shooting 76 in the first round followed up by a one under par 71 to finish 6th in a field that consisted of top amateurs and collegiate players.

Congrats to Hogan Schulze from Williamsburg, VA who placed second in the Billy Hurley Tournament played at the U.S. Naval Academy Course in Annapolis, Md. Hogan shot rounds of 69-80 with  the last round being played in rain. He will begin his collegiate career this August.

Matt Messenger  shot rounds of 79-74 at the National High School Championships being contested down in Pinehurst, NC. at the Pinehurst Resort. Matt will finish the tournament today. Matt's high school, St.David's School is currently in 4th place in the team competition.

Matt Messenger is presently in Pinehurst, NC competing in the National High School Championship by virtue of his team winning the NC 3A State Championship. Matt, from St. David's School in Raleigh, NC. will be playing for the Green Terror starting in August.

Kudos to Dell Grieser for winning his second tournament in his last three events shooting 72-71 in the HJGT Maryland Junior Open to win by three shots. The Frederick, Md. native will begin his collegiate career as a Green Terror starting this August.

Congrats to former McDaniel M-golfer @Cheisey3317 who was caddying in last weeks U.S.Open for Greyson Sigg, who was paired with Phil Mickelson in the final round.

Congrats to incoming freshman Matt Messenger from Raleigh, NC for leading his high school team, St. David's School, to the North Carolina 3 A State Championship.
