It was so encouraging to see so many people show up last night at the county board meeting to say they're are committed, as we are, to building a better, fairer, brighter future for everyone in McLean County — including those who immigrate here. wglt.org/local-news/202…

Our county must follow the rule of law and state guidance with regard to providing assistance and services for every human being. And we should do so with respect, compassion, and dignity.

.@NormalILL and @cityblm in tandem with the Emergency Management Agency have already coordinated with NGOs, nonprofits, and other facilities to develop a plan of action should our county be called upon to help meet this humanitarian challenge.

We remain committed to building a better, fairer and brighter future for everyone who lives here — including those who immigrate here. And we support providing shelter, food, education, and necessary medical care to those in need regardless of immigration status.

On this first night, we are wishing a Happy #Hanukkah to all who celebrate. May this Festival of Lights bring joy, peace and unity. Chag Sameach!

Today, we remember the 2,403 service members and civilians who lost their lives 82 years ago at Pearl Harbor. That morning, our Greatest Generation answered the call to defend freedom. Let us never forget their resolve as we defend America against those who seek to do us harm.
