@ZachTheRide3D As far as story goes, since they're all different (outside of direct sequel games), it should just the a matter of starting with something that catches you. IV is basically star wars, Tactics is GoT (before it was even a thing), XII is even MORE Star Wars lol

@ZachTheRide3D I think the biggest hurdle with the earlier games definitely involves the grinding you have to do, but a lot of the remasters and remakes mitigate that by adding a fast forward feature. VI takes about 30 hours to beat, VII takes 35-50, and it gets longer from there. CT is 15-20.

If someone (me) were to try and play a final fantasy game for the first time, where should they (me) start?

@ZachTheRide3D Story wise, it's basically Final Fantasy meets Back to the Future/Nausicca. Music is top tier. Gameplay is tight. Everything is just, muah.

@ZachTheRide3D Gonna be so real with you, start with Chrono Trigger. Made between Final Fantasy VI and VII, it's made by a dream team of Square, Enix and Akira Toriyama. It's a fairly linear, simplified RPG experience that doesn't run long, but that means everything is tight and focused.
