🧐 New study on rodent management in Crete’s greenhouses! Chemical control remains dominant, but non-chemical EBRM shows huge potential for reducing crop losses and environmental impact. Time for a shift! 🌱🐀 #Med4Pest #EBRM #SustainableFarming

Ecologically Based Rodent Management (EBRM) helps control rodent populations using nature! 🔹 Encourage natural predators 🔹 Modify habitats (limit food & shelter) 🔹 Use biological controls 🔹 Implement diverse crop management Sustainable, eco-friendly, and reduces chemical use

🔸 Why EBRM? Sustainable rodent control through prevention & eco-friendly methods. At Rodent Green: 1️⃣ Prevent: Limit access to food, water & shelter. 2️⃣ Control: Natural predators & bio-rodenticides. 3-Step Process: 1️⃣ Client Intake 2️⃣ Field Inspection 3️⃣ Action Plan

Finding the right plant and the right dose is the most challenging part, as is trapping rats and bringing them to the lab. A lot of people are working at lab to find an LD50 dose. Paraffin-coated baits are ready for tomorrow's experiment! Fingers crossed!

#Didyouknow that in Asia, under traditional rice farming systems, rodents are responsible for chronic production losses ranging from 5–10% annually? Shockingly, a mere 5% reduction in rice production amounts to approximately 30 million tons, enough to feed 180 million people 🌾

Managing #rodents is vital for community health as they can transmit 26 #diseases, including rabies and Lyme disease. Diseases can spread through contact with rodent #droppings, #urine, or #dander. Rats, especially, are prevalent and pose a significant threat to #publichealth.
