My wife collapsed in our hotel room in New York today “Call an ambulance, I can’t breathe” she was screaming My heart dropped If she ends up in an American hospital we are financially ruined I went on the Lufthansa app to book a flight back to Frankfurt, but unfortunately pilots are on strike today “Please I’m begging you” she was lying on the floor I sighed and called 911 She is now in surgery as apparently her appendix “almost burst” I am extremely scared This is going to cost us at least $100,000 She could have received much better care, for free, in Germany I will never visit this barbaric country ever again

@NzFubar Just a short bit of research would tell you that while tie-stall barns do exist in the US, it's a minority of farms, and only smaller ones - prob not ones exporting this butter. Also, no cows are fed grain only their entire lives - only a few months of 'fattening' at the end.

For those that are rushing out to buy this American imported butter in order to save 24 cents… These cows are most likely from Tie Stall barns, limited to a 1.2x1.8 metre cage, tied up and fed grain only… is it really worth the 24 cent saving?

The Crown Solicitor says it is not in the public interest for the case to go before a jury. Charges against activist Te Wehi Heketoro Ratana relating to Te Papa’s Treaty of Waitangi exhibition have been dismissed after the Crown withdrew the prosecution ahead of a scheduled jury trial. “While prosecutors said there remained sufficient evidence to proceed with both charges, the Crown Solicitor ultimately determined it was not in the public interest for the case to go before a jury.”

@Mountain_Tui Are you living on another planet? While it did point out some good things (and there were some good things), it was pretty scathing in many other areas. Lessons have been learnt that can help us do better next time.

So 2 Covid-19 Royal Commissions now find Labour did an excellent job & led NZ to one of the best outcomes globally. The report also vindicates its economics. If $30 billion was spent on schools, infrastructure etc that's amazing. National are borrowing $120 billion w/o a pandemic
