My son is a type 1 diabetic. He needs insulin to live. he has insurance with @medmutual in Ohio who wants him to go 10 days without insulin before the will refill his prescription. It was last filled on feb 16th for a 30 day supply. They refuse to fill it before March 27th. How do insurance companies get away with putting their subscribers life at risk? How do we get this fixed. Aren’t there laws against this?

Incredible. After I tweeted this, @medmutual called me within 24 hours and fixed the problem. Now, afrer managing to finally get it free for two months, I am once again being told I have to pay the same $1200 bill by Paramount. @medmutual please help.

@medmutual I shouldn’t have to. But I will. Purely to waste someone’s time and energy because you and I both know that it STILL won’t get taken care of. You know what was done. It doesn’t take that much effort to reverse a transaction.

@kpharmd12 @AmbetterHealth They deny OB stays but happily pay for branded Humira/Stelara. @medmutual make it make sense.

Very close to cancelling my insurance policy from the health insurance marketplace. In 2023, we had @AmbetterHealth “coverage” when our son was born and I fought them with them for nearly a year to get my son’s NICU stay covered. They denied the 4-1/2 day stay stating it wasn’t a medical emergency. Our denied insurance bill was $66,000. Funny thing was, before they knew he had insurance, our cash pay price was $25,000. Fast forward to this year, we now have “coverage” from @medmutual. My wife just had our 2nd child a few months ago via scheduled c-section. I just received an EOB from her hospital stay (2 days) including the bill from the anesthesiologist- ALL claims related to the hospital stay- DENIED. Apparently, @medmutual is requesting more information from the hospital regarding these claims. She had a baby. Why am I paying nearly $10k a year in premiums and a $15k deductible for this abuse?! Just pay the fucking bill, already.
