I'm tired. The past year of constant negativity from Roblox and everything surrounding it has taken a huge toll on me mentally.
It feels like every other week Roblox is shooting themselves in the foot and getting further and further away from the game I fell in love with 10 years ago.
Roblox is basically my job, and it’s the box I’ve put myself in content wise, but I’ve started having conversations with my team about what the future looks like.
I’m seriously considering making a big push into GTA 6 content when it drops, and potentially using it as an off-ramp into more mature content.

Roblox is removing cross-game gamepass sales and forcing a $5/month requirement just to donate, with a 1,000 Robux monthly limit. This will kill PLS DONATE. PLS DONATE is built around cross-game gamepass sales, a system that’s free for players and has no limits. Removing it doesn’t just change things, it kills the game completely. I wasn’t made aware of this change before it was announced. No warning, no chance to give my input or feedback before they announce this change. I’ve been developing on this platform since I was 12 and have always loved making games on Roblox, so seeing something this impactful happen overnight without real consideration is genuinely upsetting. This means a lot to me and I’m really sad about this. The solution Roblox gave us is the Transfer API, which really isn’t a solution and still affects us heavily. It’s locked behind a $5/month subscription, capped at 1,000 Robux per month, and under-18 users require parental approval for EVERY SINGLE transaction. That completely changes the experience. If transferring Robux is going to be paid, gamepasses need to coexist. Removing them ruins everything and doesn’t stop bad actors from just purchasing through the site anyway. It doesn’t make sense. I really don’t want to build hatred toward this platform. I love Roblox and still believe in it, and if it truly cares about its developers, I’m sure there are better solutions that keep users safe without killing our game. @Roblox @DavidBaszucki

We’re on the verge of interactive, real-time, photorealistic video generation with what are called World Models. These require a fair amount of expensive compute, but costs will come down over time. We believe the ultimate architecture for gaming (and the holodeck) is Roblox Reality. It’s a hybrid architecture that marries the structured data and logic of the Roblox Engine and Roblox Cloud with the generative power of Video World Models. The Roblox Engine provides the underlying synchronized ground truth—the score, physics, multiplayer sync, etc.—while our video model acts as a Super Upsampler to layer on photorealistic detail.
We believe this will ultimately remove barriers to high-fidelity creation, allowing a team of three people to build a narrative-driven, photorealistic masterpiece in a single week. This is an early look at turning solitary AI dreams into a social, playable reality.
