Why @KendrickPerkins does NOT think LeBron James can lead the Lakers to a Game 6 victory against the Rockets 👀
English

@topher_flatt @Coach_Yac Nah I get it he’s just wrong they reached and are coming up with the best excuse as to why
English

@MeechLv @Coach_Yac He was saying if they didn't trade back, he figured they'd have to trade some of the 4ths to get into the 3rd...hence 4 picks
English

@LombardiHimself @RichEisenShow Just because he and the 49ers think that don’t make them right and if he was second rated why he didn’t get invited to the combine Kyle
English

Kyle Shanahan said that Kaelon Black was the second-rated RB on the 49ers' draft board — presumably behind only Jeremiyah Love...
Shanahan also said 49ers had a strong feeling Black would be taken in the 4th, so they went for him late-3rd (#90)

@Coach_Yac John Lynch has emw right there to draft and didn’t I doubt he really thinks we need help at that position which is crazy to me
English

@sportslarryk Larry instead of tweeting about it can you bring this up to John and Kyle and ask how can they fix it 🤔
English

A faulty premise ALWAYS produces a faulty conclusion, BUT if you’re going to wander far away from the consensus personnel opinion, you’d better be right. The 49ers have been successful, but their day 1-2 drafting has not been. They win in spite of their drafting failures. The issue is not the apparent “reaches” in this draft class. The issue is that the #49ers from 2020-2023 took 12 players on days 1-2 of the #NFLDraft and only have Ji’Ayir Brown to show for it on their current roster. That’s an 8% hit rate. Completely Unacceptable by any standard. Shanahan should have 3 rings by now and instead he has none. Does Jed York have what it takes to finesse this situation and get everybody placed in their proper roles and add a top tier young but proven talent evaluator to the mix? If he can do it, I guarantee multiple SBs coming his way. If he can’t, this whole thing implodes at some point.

One big talking point from this Draft is the teams that took their guys and trusted "their" boards vs "consensus". Bears, Rams, Jags, and most notably -- 49ers -- had the largest Deltas between their picks and where the Consensus Big Boards listed. All playoff teams in '25. 🤷🏼♂️

@Coach_Yac Putting up Brandon aiyuk production ain’t easy he was an all pro
English

@LombardiHimself @KevinAMolina Do you realize David that the slider on the right is at the bottom 🤔🤔
English

@LombardiHimself Lol you see he didn’t mention rounds 1-3 😂😂😂 read between the lines

Great quote from 49ers director of scouting and football ops Josh Williams on how SF's front office self-evaluates:
“We assess it based on our board and our standards. We don’t really care as much about what the mocks say. Because the mocks don’t necessarily talk about the 4th-, 5th-, 6th-round players — the George Kittles, the Dre Greenlaws, those type of players that we valued in the building."
English

@andy49er @LombardiHimself You’ve been to two superbowls and lost both while two other teams in the same division has won a superbowl in that timeframe and also who draft better than the 49ers that’s being objective and I’m a 49ers fan
English

@MeechLv @LombardiHimself Several Division titles, several playoff games, 2 NFC Championships…more than 90% of the rest of the league during their tenure…winning the Super Bowl isn’t the measure of competent vs incompetent and the fans and media of this team act like they’ve been the Jets or the Browns
English

The whole idea that a pick can’t be good because he went higher than in irrelevant mock drafts is very tied to how wrong many continue to be dead wrong about how good Brock Purdy is.
They worship draft order instead of actually watching football and understanding its meritocratic nature.
Once picks report, no one in the building cares where specific players were drafted. Only fans and some analysts, all of whom aren’t actually connected to the league and its workings, care about this.
That was actually one of the main draft points of a coach named… Bill Walsh
English

#49ers GM John Lynch on his first pick De'Zhaun Stribling:
“The highest standard as a 49er in our draft process is called a gold helmet... and De'Zhaun was one.”
English

@Coach_Yac @sfdata9ers This is so disappointing because to me we were in great position to secure forsure day 1 starters that was a consensus but instead the reached all draft and that strategy has never work for them so why keep doing it
English

The 49ers sure do like to reach for players
We’ll see how this all plays out, but like I said earlier in the day, I can understand why people have zero confidence in their drafting
via: @sfdata9ers

English

@CoachBroker Definitely seem like they draft on character way to much idk how anybody in that building can be happy when the results of that simple have failed way more than they have worked
English

This is a great list for the 49ers heading into day three.
Because if you see a name here the 49ers aren’t drafting them😂
Arif Hasan, but NFL 🏈@ArifHasanNFL
Remaining Best Available on the Consensus Big Board

Rookie Kaelon Black is only 5 years younger than Christian McCaffrey, who is entering Year 10 in the league
Tim Kawakami@timkawakami
And to round this out from yesterday's picks, Kaelon Black is 24. Just for comparison, Mykel Williams is 21, Jordan James just turned 22 ... and Brock Purdy is a 4-year vet who's 26.
