A new study: Primary care doctors need 26.7 hours/day to complete guideline-concordant care (14.1 hrs for preventive care, 7.2 for chronic disease care, 2.2 for acute care, & 3.2 for documentation & inbox). And we wonder why PCPs face high rates of burnout. No one is superhuman.

@AmerMedicalAssn Teams are great, but physician shortage wasn't inevitable. We have more qualified applicants than we train. We financially disincentivize careers in primary care, and our professional culture equates being "smart" with urban, academic practice. We need change #FMRevolution
