Fun Fact Friday (Saturday) #80 There are many styles and forms of clothing in the Eckzahn Union, each species will likely dress differently. However the most prevalent style(s) comes from wolf clothing. Wolf clothing is characterized by muted colors and simple but high quality clothing and materials. There are also different dress codes for different scenarios. —There are a lot of similarities with Earth clothing, this will focus on the differences— Every day work clothes (what is pictured), for both sexes, are designed for practicality. For men, this often manifests as a simple shirt and pants. Depending on the job of course, you might have more protection or slightly more formal wear. For women, they often have the option of wearing a skirt/dress on top of pants, but will focus on practicality for work. Pants for both sexes are built for practicality, and have many deep useful pockets. It is common for men to be shirtless, even for work or in public. This is especially common in warmer climates or during the summer months. Active duty soldiers are expected to wear their duty uniform even on more casual outings into public. Women can get away with some jewelry for work attire (depending on their job), but men are typically limited to necklaces. Common jewelry for women includes earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces, and hair jewelry. Wolf jewelry is often characterized by having a lot of dangling bits, so not all workplaces will allow it. For more casual clothing, shorts and skirts/dresses without pants are much more common. Showing a bit of fur is very much acceptable. Since they are covered in fur, which in a way is a layer of clothing, you can get away with not covering much. Formal wear bucks the trend of wolf clothing being simple. What you wear depends on your job, and status. Active and former military are expected to wear their duty uniforms, making sure they pin every metal and service ribbon they have on it. Being a soldier is very respected in wolf culture, a soldier will have special privileges and respect from people. Non-military men are expected to wear traditional clothing to formal settings, a flary traditional shirt and pants. For women, elaborate and complex dresses and jewelry are common, but this no doubt depends on the person’s personality as to how much. Wolf clothing is made with quality over quantity, and is common for a person to have only a few outfits max. This is helped by wolves not sweating, thus not dirtying clothes with sweat or skin oil necessitating a shower. It is often to see a person wear the same outfit a few days in a row, because neither they nor the clothes are dirty yet. All legwear must (of course) be tail compatible. The most common, but far from the only, is an integrated or separate belt which latches to a button of sorts on the other side. Other common solutions would be an elastic hole you shove your tail into, or suspenders of sorts. Shoes are not typically worn every day. They are normally only worn when expected to find yourself in a hazardous environment (at least for your feet). Most footwear resembles toe shoes where each toe is separated and can move freely. Sandals are another common footwear. Men are expected to carry a weapon on them at all times in public, if not a blaster, a knife or hatchet. Personal devices, for communication or otherwise, are often some sort of wrist device. Most are able to be detached from the wrist and used like how we use phones today, or more normally when they are attached like smart watches. Keep in mind this is as general as possible, Wolf clothing has many different styles of its own and not everyone dresses the same.
