@Sir_Grimmothy Still creepy dude, he shouldn’t have been in position to begin with there’s no justifying any of Luke’s actions in this film becuz as I’ve said there is absolutely no context for any of it, no context actually showing Ben having dark tendencies or anything it’s bad storytelling

No we just don't want a Luke Skywalker who tries to kill his own nephew in his sleep over a few bad dreams, also Legends Luke struggled ALOT in Legends read the actual books, he's gone through far more shit in the novels, and he never gave up Disney Luke Did thats the difference

The Luke Skywalker desired for by The Last Jedi haters is a flat, boring, and forgettable character. These fans want a Luke Skywalker who has never lost. Never failed. Never faltered. Never doubted. He’s a video game character from the 90’s before video games started telling truly interesting stories. His biggest setbacks would have only come from some bigger, more powerful enemy who nearly defeats him in combat until Luke finds some new Force ability that helps defeat the enemy before it’s too late. But the Luke Skywalker gifted to us in The Last Jedi is truly interesting because the enemy he is forced to defeat is the enemy within. His doubt. His failure. His insecurity.

@MegatronDarth He has it on him because Jedi carry their lightsabers on them basically at all times, and he has it in his hand because he thought about taking action, as is stated in the movie

For Disney to reinstate the Legends continuity as a separate yet equally valid timeline from the current canon, keep both sides of the aisle well fed and happy, but until Disney fans stop spreading lies about the EU I doubt we’ll ever come to an understanding of any kind

@Sir_Grimmothy No but you can infer that Apart of his turn had something to do with the way Luke was training him or how Luke had neglected parts of his development, but again this is not how he’d react, and it’s not how he would approach the issue, you don’t understand the character at all

@MegatronDarth The movie explained exactly that. Force vision, of which his training has nothing to do with other than he saw it during training. What the training was like doesn't change that

@MegatronDarth It's not unreasonable to assume he has is lightsaber on him at all times as jedi do. And the movie explained why he did this, it was fear. Fear doesn't make you act rationally and Luke Skywalker is not an infallible person.

@AeroShard Yep what canon fans don’t realize is that it’s an insult anytime they bring an EU character or story into canon because the whole reason Disney got rid of it was because they wanted creative freedom to do whatever they wanted with the franchise

@MegatronDarth Luke's training methods and context are irrelevant to the situation. It is not complicated. The force showed him a vision, it terrified him, and for a split second act of fear he thought he could stop it. He activated his saber and IMMEDIATELY regretted it.

@Sir_Grimmothy See in legends theres a great line in Heir to the Empire where obi wans force ghost tells Luke that “he’s to not the last of the old Jedi but the first of the new” that line was incredibly as Luke’s journey wasn’t just to rebuild the Jedi but real build it differently and better

Well when you start supporting the Legends movement to have two separate timelines of equal value going at the same time so that both canon and legends fans can be happy then I’d agree but until then I’ll continue to be indifferent towards Disney Star Wars successes or failures
