For those of you that aren’t familiar with this ecosystem, here’s a quick description: Aztec is helping transform Ethereum by building a fully decentralized, privacy-first L2 on Ethereum.
This approach is an important shift from Ethereum's traditional transparency, ensuring user data remains private while maintaining Ethereum's trustworthiness and security.
To move forward, they invented a universal language for zero knowledge, called Noir to help simplify the creation of secure, encrypted blockchain applications. Noir, developed with Rust-based syntax, makes developing zero-knowledge applications more accessible and secure, enhancing both readability and reliability.
Recently, they have released Aztec Sandbox, a local developer testnet for smart contract privacy, the first major step to offer a fully decentralized, privacy-preserving Layer 2.
🔥Now after introducing this ecosystem, we’re also very happy to share two projects from Aztec that are found on Only Dust:
Noir<> Halo2 Integration: Noir's flexibility meets Halo2's performance. This integration offers developers a choice of backends, adapting to various needs and enhancing user experience. In other words, integrating the backend with Noir could give developers the flexibility to use whichever backend fits their needs better.
ACVM Docs: As Noir utilizes ACIR and is compiled by ACVM, developing comprehensive documentation becomes quite important! These docs will serve as a valuable resource for understanding Noir’s codebase, aiding in audits, and learning about proving backend integrations.
