This new @socscimed publication, led by @JonOlsen_ and Elise Whitley, explores factors that influencing older adults' walking.
This paper is the first of several forthcoming from the #PACES project.

Which factors are associated with more weekly walking among #olderpeople ?
✅Prior sporting activity
✅Walking for pleasure
✅Having close friends
✅Local retail destinations

Wider impacts were challenging to identify due to preventative nature. But stakeholders discussed reducing referrals and wait times for support, offering reassurance that support is available 24/7 and promoting uptake and engagement of platforms were likely.

Barriers included digital literacy, digital poverty, accessibility of platforms and negative experiences of platforms

Outcomes were largely linked to positive experiences of the platform and led to improvements in mental wellbeing, mental health literacy, and feeling connected to others

Great collaboration today at #GlasgowUniversity #intergenerationalconnections We had a fabulous time working with many professional bodies, being involved in workshop discussions, research presentations and evidence of good Intergenerational Practice. A great experience for all!
