@MelColley i have a friend who says it's really good and uses it a lot, but as a photoshop user i had a hard time getting used to the brushes :/ Photopea has worked for me for basic graphic design stuff but i haven't tried their brushes tho

Adobe was already getting on my last nerve with their AI bullshit, but this experience with customer service over the last two days has really solidified my desire to never use another one of their products again.

@dasghostie Do you have any experience using Krita? I've seen quite a few recommendations for it. I'll look into Affinity too though, thanks!

@MelColley maybe you could try affinity? my version kept crashing but it worked well for other ppl

@Adobe @saesayshey Also perhaps explain to me why I would ever want to purchase another product from a company who has robbed me from using one I already own.

Now telling me they can no longer allow me to use it because 'old' WTF kind of scam is this @Adobe I PAID for this software already and it is functional if you would allow me to install it on my computer. You've basically bricked me from being able to use something I own!

Doubling down now and refusing to help me. Unbelievable. I guess if you are using CS5 you better hope your drive doesn't get corrupted or you'll just lose access to software you own for eternity. Even if you still have your serial number and product information.

Honestly the most scammy behaviour from a company I used to trust. And they want me to subscribe. Laughable. I will never use an Adobe product again.

They have sent me variations of this message. LIKE I KNOW JUST BLOODY WELL DO IT THEN.

I have asked them to deactivate from the device I don't have access to anymore 5 times, so that I can reinstall on my new one, and they just keep saying they can do it without actually doing it. (I would do this myself if it showed up in my account)

Losing my absolute mind with adobe support today. They are trying to sell me on a subscription because they have messed up and taken away my ability to access my old cs5 suite in my account for some reason. I refuse to pay for a subscription when I already own the software.

I think I've figured out how to make the general interface acceptable for my preferences.

My only real complaint so far is how complicated it is to copy text to Ao3 without losing all of my formatting. Oh and migrating all of my word files over is a mess too, since it doesn't particularly seem to like that formatting either.

Word betrayed me today. It freezes when I highlight text, freezes when I search for words, freezes when I navigate by titles. Completely useless to me at this point. So I bought Scrivener. We'll see how it goes I guess.
