Narratives matter. As an organizer, I've spent years helping people tell their stories to challenge dominant narratives that have shaped policies that harm working people. It was time to share a part of mine. ctmirror.org/2026/04/09/aff…

We're in a new narrative era. Affordability is the dominant frame. Its meaning is still contested in politics and policy. We have a collective responsibility to ensure history doesn't repeat itself. That begins by sharing our stories.

For the last three years we’ve been door-to-door talking to CT residents. Among renters the message has been clear - rent is too high! Folks are working hard and barely scraping by. They want fairness and for the tax code to finally recognize their labor.

A piece reflecting on my family and what our journey has taught me about how to reframe what we’re really debating when it comes to housing policy: who gets to belong. Belonging is the battlefield. ctmirror.org/2025/10/15/bel…

Glad to see @GovNedLamont planning ahead for federal cuts by using Connecticut’s surplus wisely. Credit to lawmakers for pushing preparation early. We shouldn’t have to negotiate care or opportunity. Grateful to those working to hold the line. ctmirror.org/2025/10/15/ct-…

Melvin Medina with the Connecticut Project nailed it! We are not short on ideas, we're short on resolve. Leadership isn't about letting towns say no—it's about helping them say YES to building bright futures. (1/2)

Call the special session @GovNedLamont. It’s time to get CT prepared for federal cuts to HUSKY and SNAP. Residents across our state are calling on you to take action. shorturl.at/pvIOr

It's up to @GovNedLamont lamont to finish the job on HB 5002 in a special session as soon as possible. “The No-Growth, No-Opportunity Coalition is committed to freezing the state in place.” Are you @GovNedLamont? ctmirror.org/2025/06/27/the…

“Rejecting growth didn’t pause our bills. It blocked our ability to spread them fairly—across a broader, stronger, more diverse community already knocking at the door.” -Melvin Medina, Woodbridge, CT Resident

The cost of exclusion is high—but the cost of letting it define Connecticut’s future is even higher. Everyone has a role in making Connecticut fair and affordable. @GovNedLamont walked away from his.

Gov. Lamont’s veto of HB 5002 energized the No-Growth, No-Opportunity Coalition—a resistance that sees every step forward on housing as a threat, and every new neighbor as a burden. ctmirror.org/2025/06/27/the…

The most responsible thing to do right now is to pause, maximize flexibility, and be ready to respond. I applaud @MattRitterCT and @jrojas9 on that position. It’s smart fiscal policy given the unprecedented challenge we face from D.C.

NEW: House Speaker @MattRitterCT says Democratic lawmakers may declare a fiscal emergency due to massive cuts from Washington plus stock market losses That could mean pausing the state's "fiscal guardrails" and dipping into the budget reserve fund

Rigidity won’t save us: “…some politicians are acting as if our state is in the same situation as working people. It’s not. Unlike most working families, who are often one unexpected $1,000 expense away from complete crisis, Connecticut has options.” courant.com/2025/04/05/opi…

I gotta imagine you’re with me on this @CTMirrorPaz - when there’s already consensus on policy, letting the clock wipe the slate clean isn’t just efficient - it borders on absurd.

While lawmakers debate the clock, working people juggle which bills to pay now and what dreams or basic needs to put off for later. ctmirror.org/2025/03/21/ct-…
