I'm too depressed to function so writing is what I should be doing. I'm too scared to write because even after 20 years I'm scared I'm doing it "wrong" because I don't have any friends to ask if the prose is good. It's actually sad as fuck man

I'm probably just being really hard on myself but not even my friends read it so now I have sadly equated my measure of success to how much I deserve to be in a fandom space and be a writer... uh oh!!!!!!!!

The high wore off and now I'm wondering if I should quit writing after all...

i think some readers really underestimate the power they hold, getting consecutive comments from someone as they read through your chaptered fic hits so hard dude... even if it's just like a single sentence in each comment it seriously makes my day. damn u read that in one go wow

a lot of modern fic discourse treats fic writers like some abstract, disembodied entity that exists in a separate plane to churn out "content" rather than fans who vibe in the same spheres and are bound to see the way people talk about them

the average fandom goer genuinely doesnt seem to realize that writing fic is not just putting words on a page, portraying characters, and narrating actions. describing writing in such a simplistic way does not truly encapsulate what the hobby entails and all that we do. +
