Did you feel it? Preliminary data from the Alaska Earthquake Center shows a M4.5 earthquake struck just after noon, 5 miles south of Skwentna, 37 miles west of Willow.

A Magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the east coast of Kamchatka just after 6:30 this evening. There is no tsunami threat from this earthquake for Alaska or the U.S. west coast.

People between Kenai and Homer are reporting feeling an earthquake this afternoon. Preliminary data from the Alaska Earthquake Center recorded a M4.1 quake at 3:45 Thursday afternoon. The quake was 15 miles south of Clam Gulch. Let us know if you felt it!

Did you feel it? A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Wednesday morning on the southern edge of Denali National Park, northwest of Talkeetna. The earthquake was 52 miles deep. As of 11:30 a.m., nearly 200 people reported feeling it to the USGS.

Record rain fell in Fairbanks today, beating a record in place for more than 100 years. The rain comes as wildfires are sgrowing and people are stil evacuated from their homes. Southeast will also see heavy rain this week. Flood advisories are in effect near Ketchikan.

There is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect southeast of Delta Junction. This area needs to be prepared for quarter-sized and damaging hail, gusting winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.

Things are heating up in Alaska! Anchorage hit 53° today. That may not sound that warm, but it's the warmest we've been since last September, 205 days ago! Normal temperatures are in the upper 40s, and we'll stay in the upper 40s and low 50s for the rest of April. #akwx

Did you feel it? Preliminary data from the Alaska Earthquake Center shows a M4.7 quake hit at 4:24 p.m. in Southcentral. The quake registered 24 miles west of Hatcher Pass and 40 miles north of Anchorage. The earthquake was 21 miles deep.

Anchorage: Be prepared for high winds overnight. A quick moving, but strong front will force strong southeast winds across the region overnight. Be prepared for winds up to 80 mph on the Anchorage and Eagle River Hillsides, and up to 60 mph in town.

Get ready for more snow Southcentral! The next band will move north across the region Thursday. The heaviest snow will fall near Portage Valley, where 6-10" is likely. Anchorage should prepare for 1-3", although some areas could see more than 4".
