This is because reading dark tropes in fiction is the equivalent of getting on a roller coaster. Coasters simulate the dangers expected in car or plane crashes, but you're not in any actual danger. The fear is controlled and simulated, and you have a choice to participate or not

Is it because we don't buy enough? Don't listen enough? Don't subscribe enough? Is that really what you think, Japanese??? How could you possibly know that international fans aren't buying enough when we literally have to use shipping proxies just to send items to a warehouse inside Japan—simply because you don't even offer worldwide shipping? Or sometimes, we even have to pay people living in Japan to buy things for us because our foreign credit cards get rejected. So, how on earth are you collecting data to claim that we aren't doing enough? Sometimes, sending an artist abroad is an investment and a risk that the agency just has to take. When you haven't done any marketing or promotion for your artists overseas whatsoever, what kind of results are you expecting? Are you hoping their songs will magically market themselves without the company doing a single thing? That their online shows will just go viral on their own? Excuse me?? but we are still being region-locked out of accessing those media outlets most of the time. We can barely buy concert tickets to see them in Japan because we don't have a Japanese phone number or address. Even buying a CD—which shouldn't be hard because the people buying them are the ones who genuinely care about the artist's music—can still result in our credit cards being rejected just because they are from overseas. So, how can you expect an artist to become popular enough abroad to justify the investment of sending them there? You aren't lacking anything, Japanese. Your artists are incredible, they always work so hard. What is truly lacking is the vision of the people working behind the scenes. This habit of being afraid of everything before even trying is a mindset that will never let you move forward. Making cautious decisions is a good thing, but that should only happen after you have fully done your duty as their agency first.

If you’re a fan of Japanese music and live outside of Japan, I would be so grateful if you take a moment to read this🙏 If you’ve ever wondered why more Japanese artists don’t reach out and do shows & tours overseas, the reason is pretty simple and the main one is the hurdle of selling tickets. There is only a SMALL percentage of artists that can rely on the power of big labels/agents to promote their shows internationally. Even in Japan, selling out shows is a lot more challenging than in past years, due to people just being satisfied with digital content. And considering it costs even more to bring a tour overseas, you can imagine how many artists are willing to LOSE money by doing so, if any. It’s not just about the artist not being popular or sufficient enough, or that they don’t have the will to bring their content to fans around the world. In fact, there are so many fellow artists around me that I highly respect, telling me they wish they could do shows overseas, but know it’s not realistically possible, and as someone who yearns for the same thing, it really, really hurts inside. More importantly, it hurts most that fans around the world will often never ever be able to see a show of their favorite Japanese artist. I’m not trying to ask for pity, nor demand anything, unless this resonates with you. But if it does, and you want to know what you can do to help us reach you with our music, it’s really very simple. Please go follow artist’s socials. Please go subscribe to their Youtube channels. Please find them on Spotify. Please interact with them by commenting and letting them know you’re there to support them. Please share your passion with the people around you. AND PLEASE, don’t miss the opportunity to buy a ticket and GO to their shows, when that miraculous opportunity comes, whether it’s a solo or event stage. I am not exaggerating when I say it IS a miracle and it might never happen again. I know writing all this isn’t gonna change much, but I just hope it reminds you that every listener, every fan, every second of support matters in keeping music alive, particularly in this generation. Thanks for listening, if you made it this far🫶 Let’s keep Rocking On. NANO

not my usual post but i still stand by the fact that yanderes are not a “dead trope.” people just got way more uncomfortable with letting fictional characters be genuinely immoral, obsessive, or toxic without needing them to be sanitized first. (🧵)
vero 🂱@deviIspire

yanderes are not really a dead theme it's just that most people dont like when the character is a full yandere that does ethically and morally wrong things for the sake of their loved one . i said this once ikr

It seems that the majority of comments are misunderstanding that I am talking about international shows, and not domestic shows. Though I understand and appreciate the opinions about the latter.
