@BatVibes Brock, maybe but his baby pokemon was Happiny who had freakish strength, but Ash is more battle minded and with Togepi he would have been left with a team of 5 since Togepi, apart from the very few times it used metronome, would not have been a good choice for his goals

Rewatching the Togepi hatching episode and Misty is the absolute last person who should have gotten it. She basically stole it. Think about the breakdown: • Ash found the egg during the Aerodactyl attack. • Brock actually took the time to nurture and care for it. • Even Meowth loved and nurtured the egg! • Ash literally won the tournament for the rights to keep it. Misty's only contribution was shoving Ash and Brock out of the way at the exact second it hatched so it would imprint on her. Who do you think really deserved Togepi?
