Yeah you're not used to Freedom. In Texas it's normal. People openly carry rifles or handguns. There's a lawsuit going on right now to stop the mandatory concealed carry here. Personally I like concealed carry but I want the option of being able to open carry here in Florida because we have a thing called the Second Amendment and there's no exceptions to it. The Purpose By the way of the Second Amendment is to ensure that we can overthrow what tyrannical government and trust me the government would never be able to overwhelm the people. There are 330 million Americans out of which about 170 million are armed. Now most of them of course would not take up arms no matter how tyrannical our government became but about 30 million would and 30 million would fire exceed the military force in this country. By the way you might be interested to know that they discussed this in one of the founding documents. You'll have to learn what the Federalist Papers are and is actually something called the Anti-Federalist papers as well but I suspect you don't know very much American history. The Federalist Papers and the anti- Papers were discussions in the newspapers at the time and they were arguments for and against New York signing on to the proposed us constitution. At that time we were operating under the Articles of confederation. I'm not going to get into that little debacle but technically the constitutional convention was not supposed to be a constitutional convention but just a way to rewrite the Articles of Confederation which required total unanimity in order to make a change but they did a bait the switch and we ended up with the Constitution. Federalist number 46 addresses the issue of concern at the time about the military being used against the civilian population should the government turned tyrannical. It was pointed out that the armed civilian population and the civilian population at that time was well and truly armed would far exceed the military forces. I believe the numbers they gave were 500,000 civilians that were armed against 30,000 soldiers which is what the existing military was following the Revolutionary War. Today the numbers are a bit different. All branches of the United States military are just over 1,500,000 personnel. Not all of them are combat operations capable. That is because they do different things and they're not basically rifleman. There are perhaps about 500,000 to 600,000 that would actually be combat. I'd say 30 million far exceeds that. An armed civilian population is a prophylactic measure to tyranny and failing that would certainly be its remedy. In the 20th century some 200 million or thereabouts were murdered by their own governments and of course those people were disarmed. No government and I repeat no government not especially even mine is worthy of having the Monopoly on force and violence. Texas isn't the only state where people can walk around with their rifles and handguns out in the open but it's probably the most notable one. Florida will probably be among them in the next year or two hopefully because there's a lawsuit going on right now about this issue up at the 11th circuit. You're going to have to learn about how our system works by the way rather exceptional here. Most Americans don't know anything about how our judicial system works or the process. Short note. There are state courts and those courts are set up in districts and of course there are appeals courts and of course there are state supreme courts. Then there are the federal courts. Cases can pass from the state to the Federal. The federal courts start with the US Supreme Court at the top and the inferior courts and that's what they are called, they are called inferior courts include all of the Circuit Court of Appeals and then below that are the district courts. The federal district course all exist in every state and are separate and apart from the state courts. Good luck.
