When I started shipping PlayStations, I made an offer to Market Traders to be making cheap wholesale for them at low prices. I offered them each of my PlayStation for 30k cheaper than I am currently selling. This is despite the fact that I knew from the market survey I did that they would be making a minimum of 70k guaranteed profit on each console. A profit even I wouldn’t be making. They sell Ps4 slim for up to 260k meanwhile I offered them for just 170k. I thought I gave them a sweet deal until I sent them the PlayStations. Then their story changed, they began dragging & toying with my head to lower the price for them. They thought I had no choice since I shipped the consoles all the way from Europe and I had no market for them. So I called off the deal and decided to sell the PlayStations myself. So far, I have sold over 200 PlayStations within just few months and by selling at my current price (which is still very cheap), I saved 6million naira that I wouldn’t have made if I had sold to those Market Traders. Today, I am still struggling to cope with the massive demand for my consoles from all across Nigeria. People would rather pay delivery cost from Kano to Lagos than buy in Lagos. The most satisfying part of the business for me is how many people are buying from us & reselling at higher prices to earn a living. I am hoping to create the same opportunity for people when I start shipping cars as well. We rise by lifting others.
