Memorial Mustang Softball

Congratulations to four of our Lady Mustangs for making the TX Prep Varsity Texas Softball Lists. Sophie Vlasak-Top 2027 Catcher, Reese Waggoner-Top 2026 Left Fielder, Addie Beckcom-2026 Top Outfielder and Brooke Kearns-2026 Top Center Fielder. We appreciate the recognition @LoneStarPrepsTX

The Memorial Softball team was able to sneak some community outreach into our annual Hit-a-thon this year. Through a tremendous outpouring of community support, we were able to collect tons of new and gently used baseball and softball equipment for our friends at SpringSpirit! We also donated a portion of our fundraiser to their softball organization. Shout out to MHS class of 2017 graduate, Kayla Keeling, who is helping run the softball program over at SpringSpirit! @sbisdathletics @MHShouston @MHSMustangsBC

Mustang Milestones for Senior, Brooke Kearns. She had her 150th Career Hit! Way to go Brooke!

Vlasak went 3/3 with 2 HRs and 3 RBIs propelling Memorial to a 12-2 victory over Northbrook. Cannizaro had her 7th HR of the season. 11 Mustangs hits! Doubles by Waggoner & Nelson. Siblik & Nelson multiple hits. DeAnda in the circle for the win!She allowed only 3 hits & had 6 strike outs!

Mustang Milestone for Junior Sophie Vlasak! She has entered the 100 Club! She actually surpassed it! So far, Vlasak has 101 Career Hits! Way to go Sophie!

Our Lady Mustangs obviously needed Spring Break! They showed up ready to play today beating Tompkins 12-2! Memorial had 11 hits for the day! Homers from Beckcom and Cannizaro. Three hits from Cannizaro & Kearns, two from Waggoner. DeAnda gets the W Only giving up 2 hits!

Memorial Softball suffered a 14-12 loss against Cy Fair last night. The Mustangs had 13 hits for the night. Vlasak, Waggoner, Bujanos, Kearns and Newell all had multiple hits. Team RBI leaders were Waggoner-4 & Vlasak-3. Cannizaro had a strong eye at the plate earning 4 walks.

Congrats to our 3 Hitathon winners. First place went to Sophie Vlasak, second place Brooke Kearns and third place Riley Cannizaro. We hit it out of the park, raising money for Memorial’s Softball Program and supporting our philanthropy, Spring Spirit. Let’s go Mustangs!

Despite 9 hits, Memorial fell 8-6 to Cy-Ridge. Kearns and Siblik each collected 2 hits. Waggoner & Kearns each had 3 RBIs. Kearns homered in the 5th & Waggoner in the 7th. Cannizaro led with 2 walks. Nelson had the most chances in the field with 6.

The Mustangs went 3-1 in the SBISD Tournament. The ladies collectively had 33 hits in the 4 games. Cannizaro had 2 HRs. Borrego had 1. In the games against Seven Lakes & Travis, Nelson led w 2 RBIs per game. Against Sterling, Kearns had 4 RBIs & Siblik had 4 against Columbus.
