Trump failed crypto today.
Our politicians failed us today.
The entire industry showed up for him funded, supported, pushed for U.S. innovation and when it actually mattered, he folded to the same big banks crypto was built to replace.
Let’s be honest about what just happened:
Stablecoin yield was becoming real competition. Real alternatives. Real financial freedom.
So they killed it.
Not for “consumer protection.” Not for “risk management.”
But because it threatens a system that survives on control, fees, inflation, and gatekeeping.
Traditional banking doesn’t win in a free market so it rewrites the rules.
And Washington just proved exactly who they work for.
Meanwhile, politicians somehow outperform markets, insiders get rich, and we’re told this is all for our benefit.
Short term?
DeFi gets hit.
Projects die.
Innovation leaves the U.S.
Long term? You can’t stop open-source.
You can’t kill decentralization.
But today was a reminder:
They don’t want competition.
They want control.
Fuck every politician who sold out to big banks instead of protecting consumers.

If the US is pumping a record 13.6 million barrels of crude per day (#1 producer), imports the vast majority of its crude from Canada & Mexico, and is a net exporter of petroleum overall... why is everyone in full meltdown mode?
The Strait of Hormuz (20% of global seaborne oil) was effectively shut down after the Feb 28 US/Israeli strikes on Iran. Tanker traffic plummeted, traders panicked, bidding up Brent/ WTI on "what if" global shortages, with skyrocketing insurance, rerouting chaos, and endless speculation. That global benchmark price spike hits US refiners, so pump prices jumped from an avg of $3.10 to $4.00+ nationally in just weeks.
This isn't about domestic supply. It's about global market dynamics and manipulation. Makes you think, when and what is the end game?

🚨 WALMART’S AI PRICE SYSTEM JUST ACTIVATED — DIGITAL PRICES CAN CHANGE IN SECONDS WHILE YOU SHOP AND A CUSTOMER CAUGHT IT ON CAMERA
America’s biggest retailers are quietly replacing paper tags with digital screens.
Prices are no longer fixed.
They can change in seconds.
• Grab it at one price
• Walk to checkout
• It’s already higher
This unlocks dynamic pricing inside stores.
• Demand spikes → price jumps
• Inventory drops → price adjusts
• Algorithms decide what you pay in real time
Not tomorrow.
Not next week.
Right now.
When prices can change in seconds… are you even buying anything anymore, or just paying whatever the system decides you owe?

They were known as funding gaps way back when, rather than full “shutdowns”. Even under the Antideficiency Act. Agencies continued with reduced operations during lapses, assuming Congress would provide funding with minimal visible disruption. But the extreme polarization in politics today stalls any and all progress. Definitely feels that way, no questions there. Much agreed.

@MementoMovement When did this "shutdown" bullshit become a thing? I don't remember this happening in the 70s, 80s, 90s, or even early 2000s. Maybe I'm just ignorant, but it seems to happen every other effing month now.

Fun fact… :
The U.S. has been in a partial government shutdown since February 14, 2026, now at 37 days and counting. This makes it the second longest shutdown in American history (including full and major partial ones):
1. 2025 Shutdown (Oct 1 - Nov 12, 2025): 43 days (full government shutdown, longest ever)
2. Current DHS shutdown (Feb 14, 2026 - ongoing): 37 days (partial, affecting Homeland Security, TSA lines, Coast Guard, immigration enforcement, FEMA responses)
3. 2018-2019 Shutdown (Dec 22, 2018 - Jan 25, 2019): 35 days
How much longer will political gridlock over immigration reforms keep key agencies limping along?
