My piece for The Times is out today. If violence against women and girls is truly a “national emergency”, why has the UK’s response to Andrew Tate’s alleged crimes been defined by delay, drift and bureaucratic paralysis? I argue that, despite repeated public statements from ministers, the British authorities have failed to act with the urgency this case demands — while Tate has remained free to move across jurisdictions and cultivate an image of untouchability. The women I represent have waited years for justice. The question now is whether the UK genuinely intends to pursue it, or whether the rhetoric around VAWG amounts to little more than performative politics. “Come and get me,” Tate has said.
