Today, 26 November, we wrapped up the three-day Gender Transformative Approach training, which began on 24 November and was officially opened by the RWAMREC Executive Director. The training brought together 100 young farmers from the #Shoraneza project, delivered in partnership with the World Food Programme. Over three days, participants explored harmful gender norms, strengthened their understanding of the GTA, and built skills that promote equality, shared decision-making, and women’s financial inclusion. Held at RICEM in Kigali, the training concluded with participants committing to serve as community facilitators, applying the #GTA in their communities to reach more young women farmers and ensure they have access to dignified and fulfilling jobs.

🚨 Stop Unwanted Touching! 🚨 During #16DaysOfActivism and as part of the #SafeAtWork campaign, we spotlight “Gukorakora umuntu ku buryo budakwiye,” a video showing how unwanted touching & invading someone’s space is physical + sexual harassment. Everyone deserves safety & dignity at work. #EndGBV #PositiveMasculinity #RWAMREC 📞 RNP: 112 | Isange: 3029 | RIB: 166 🎥 youtu.be/buyfNFpFDx4

During the #16DaysOfActivism, we’re reminding everyone: consent must be voluntary, informed, given by someone mentally and legally capable of understanding and making the decision, specific, and revocable. In this episode of the #16Days video series, Tony forces himself on Liliane and even spikes her drink — but Eric steps in and stops the situation. Being drunk is NEVER an invitation to abuse. We all have a role in ending GBV. 🎥 Watch the video: youtu.be/jbb4c0Em-L0 📞 Report GBV: Rwanda National Police: 112 | Isange One Stop Center: 3029 | RIB: 166 #SafeAtWork #SafeAfterWork #StopGBV #NoExcuseForOnlineAbuse #MenAgainstGBV #ItIsNeverTheVictimsFault #MenForGenderEquality #TwubakeUmuryangoUziraIhohotera

Transformation starts with us📷 This week, in the calm atmosphere of Rubavu, the Kataza Consortium partners are gathered at Hill View Hotel for a 3-day training. Together, we are unpacking the gender and social norms that continue to limit young women’s access to financial services. By challenging our own biases and strengthening our understanding, we are becoming the champions who will drive inclusive, equitable, and accessible financial services for every young woman we serve. 📷 Change is possible when we choose to lead it.

Sometimes “just joking” isn’t a joke. Harmful words can be used as a weapon—and Aline’s story shows how verbal harassment can be minimized, denied, or blamed on the victim. But it also shows the power of colleagues who choose to listen, believe, and support. 🎥 Watch the video to learn how bystanders can make a real difference in stopping workplace harassment.

🌟 Spotlight on RWAMREC! 🌟 We are proud to share that Gisèle Umutoniwase, Director of Programs at RWAMREC – Rwanda Men’s Resource Center, represented our organization at the Rendez-vous de l’Expertise panel on gender and healthcare access. During the discussion on “Access to Healthcare: Gender Barriers and How to Overcome Them,” Gisele shared insights drawn from RWAMREC’s 20 years of experience engaging men as allies in gender equality. She highlighted strategies to promote positive masculinity, improve gender-equitable access to healthcare, and mobilize communities to prevent gender-based violence. Gisele also addressed common misconceptions about men’s engagement in gender programs and showcased effective partnerships and messaging that have helped gain trust and buy-in from communities, policymakers, and feminist movements. Her contribution underscored RWAMREC’s long-standing commitment to transforming masculinities, fostering inclusive communities, and scaling impact through knowledge-sharing and collaboration. 🎥 Watch the full panel replay – English and French versions available here: 👉 rdvexpertise.fr/.../global-hea… #genderequality #positivemasculinity #HealthForAll #rwamrec #GBVPrevention #CommunityEngagement #expertise2025

Today, our Field Officer, Gustave Muvunyi, represented #RWAMREC at Play International’s #ToutEnSports project in Rwanda. He shared how RWAMREC engages men and boys to challenge harmful gender norms that limit women’s access to sports, and to transform conflictual masculinities into positive, collaborative, and healthy ones. Sport is a powerful tool to promote #GenderEquality, health, and emotional well-being, and we believe boys can become allies to girls in challenging stereotypes. Pascaline Curtet, Country Director of Play International Rwanda, thanked us for sharing our approach and appreciated the perspectives RWAMREC brings to engaging men and boys. 🙌 We are proud to collaborate with Play International to use sport as a platform for social change in Rwanda! ⚽💪🏽 #PositiveMasculinity #YouthEmpowerment #GBVPrevention #SportForChange

Do Condoms Kill the Vibe? But what actually kills the vibe? Worry. Uncertainty. Regret. Using protection shows selfcare&your partner's. It means confidence&responsibility Because respect and safety are always a turn-on. Condoms don’t kill the vibe, they protect it. #BiteBro

🗓️ Today is International Equal Pay Day! RWAMREC is proud to launch #SafeAtWork — our commitment to making same work, same value, same pay a reality for all, regardless of gender. In Rwanda, women earn ~26% less per hour than men on average. Globally, women make ~80¢ for every $1 men earn for similar work. Notwithstanding efforts toward gender equality in pay, structural inequalities and gender norms still hold women back from leadership, formal jobs, and fair pay. 🎯 Our vision: ✅ Transparent pay structures ✅ Equal access to jobs, promotions & skills training ✅ Workplaces that guarantee fairness, dignity, and safety Let’s act together for pay equality. Safe at work means equal at work. 💼💜 #EqualPay #SafeAtWork #KoranaItuze #RWAMREC

#RWAMREC promotes eye health-seeking behaviors among men, challenging the masculinity norms that often discourage men from seeking medical help and prevent other family members from doing the same. This can lead to irreversible health conditions. And you? When was the last time you had your eyes checked?

From March 26-28, #RWAMREC trained 60 financial service providers in a Gender Transformative Approach (GTA) across Kataza operational districts in the Eastern Province. Through the #KATAZAProgram, we didn’t just discuss gender equality—we worked to shift mindsets, break barriers, and nurture inclusive financial ecosystems. One participant shared: “I’ve been to many gender trainings before, but this is the first time I truly understand what gender means. I now fully understand gender, and my misconceptions have turned into knowledge and positive change.”
