The Office of Racial Equity isn’t about reducing anyone’s presence, it’s about making sure all communities have fair access, opportunities, and treatment within government services and employment. A diverse workforce isn’t a threat it reflects the city it serves and helps address systemic barriers that have historically left some groups underrepresented.
So rather than “reducing a number to zero,” the goal is balance, fairness, and inclusion, not exclusion. Equity isn’t a threat to anyone it benefits everyone.
