The vision sounds too big to be true right now. And that is exactly how the best opportunities always look early on. This is by design, the Dutch (and Amsterdam) economy does not rely on tourism that much. The hotel occupancy rate in Amsterdam is close to 95% during “busy seasons” and the city is already full of tourists. Creating even more room for tourism is not what the city wants (or needs to be honest), so the high prices and low availability of rooms are a logical consequence of this.
