Wonderful couple of days visiting Wasaho elementary in Fort Severn. Enjoyed visiting with former students, and meeting the wonderful people of this incredible community. No polar bears to be seen on this trip. Maybe next time.😀

Today we marked the seventh anniversary of the Seven Youth Inquest at the Political Roundtable meeting in @CityThunderBay. Meegwetch to the families, youth & leaders from our communities and government for your participation. Much work to do.

It was so awesome to co-lead learning on the work of Hattie and High Impact Teaching Strategies with Principal Szumowski from SNHS and Principal Hopkins from the KPDSB Rapid Response Team at Matawa Education gathering in Thunder Bay this week.

A wonderful trip north to Bearskin Lake First Nation this week. Super enjoyed the visit with the staff and students of School there. Truly a northern example of best practices in the science of learning.

Finished a wonderful day of learning with northern NTIP teacher visits to KPDSB and Lac Suel Education schools to meet their mentors. Group Dinner to celebrate a fantastic day.

Wonderful first day at the Kekeenamawkayo 2024 conference hosted by the Kwayaciiwin Resource Centre in Winnipeg Manitoba. It’s only fitting with this years theme of Returning to our Roots that I connected with dear old friends including our MPP Sol Mamakwa.

Today we celebrate the International Day of Women & Girls in Science, adopted by the United Nations to encourage, support & mentor more girls and women in this field.

Enjoyed the visit to Mishkeegogamang community school last week. Awesome conversations and work being done by the team there to support the science of reading programs. Loved the traditional crafts class at KiHS and deer hide mittens!
