Today marks the Anniversary of the Apology to Australia’s Indigenous Peoples. Today we remember, acknowledge and reflect on the suffering experienced by Australia’s Indigenous Peoples and their families. Let us unite together in love, compassion and justice.

The internet connects us more than ever – it’s where we learn, work, socialise & share our lives. But that also means online risks are part of everyday life. As a College we will focus today on what’s really happening online, & think about what we can each do to make it better.

Girls in Years 4 to 6 are invited to join us for an exciting 4-week art program, where they will explore a range of techniques and bring them together in bold abstract artworks. Perfect for curious, creative minds who love to experiment and express themselves!

February 8 honours St Josephine Bakhita, patron saint of victims and survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking. Enslaved as a child, her journey to freedom inspires prayer, reflection, and action for human dignity worldwide.

Today, our students came together for their first House Assemblies of 2026! We proudly welcomed our newest members to the College, presenting their House badges. Students also learnt about the exciting House events and activities coming up this year.

Today we welcomed back students for the first day of the school year. Our Year 7s experienced their very first day of secondary school, while our Year 12s marked their last first day, a special milestone at both ends of the journey.

At our Night of Excellence on 2 December, we welcomed guest speaker Chiara Beccia (Class of 2018), a University of Melbourne graduate and the first in her department to undertake the combined MD–PhD at Melbourne Medical School.

As 2025 comes to a close, we celebrate a remarkable year at Mercy College, marked by milestones, achievements & the strength of our community. From honoring 60 Years of Hope Through Mercy to the successes of our students, staff & alumnae, it has truly been a year to remember.

For a child has been born for us, a son given to us, authority rests upon his shoulders and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 Wishing you and those you love a Christmas filled with peace, joy and hope.

Congratulations to our Mercy students who received first round offers today to the Uni Melb, Monash, La Trobe, Deakin, ACU and RMIT. Wherever your path leads next, we know you will carry forward the resilience, learning and friendships forged at Mercy.

We are incredibly proud of our students who have received VCE Early Entry offers to a range of universities and tertiary pathways. These offers reflect their hard work, commitment, and dedication throughout their studies and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the tragic events at Bondi on Sunday evening. May those who have died rest in peace and may God’s healing love surround all who are grieving, injured, or traumatised.

Over the past few weeks, our students, families, and staff have worked together to collect and assemble Christmas hampers for Vinnies. These hampers are prepared with care to bring a little extra joy to families in need this Christmas.
