He shouldn’t have been arrested in the first place. Reports that he was severely beaten by the army are appalling

#Urgent_News: Yesterday, my colleague at the Access Center for Human Rights was summoned by the #Lebanese_Army Intelligence in Ablah because of his human rights activism. He was on a hunger strike and was severely beaten all over his body, before eventually released #ACHR will issue a statement about his detention status next week. يوم أمس تم استدعاء زميلي في مركز وصول لحقوق الإنسان من قبل مخابرات #الجيش_اللبناني بأبلح بسبب نشاطه الحقوقي، كان مضربًا عن الطعام وتعرّض للضرب المبرح، بكافة أنحاء جسده، قبل إطلاق سراحه قبل قليل. المركز سيصدر بيانًا حول حالة احتجازه الأسبوع القادم. @ACHRights

يوم أمس تم استدعاء زميلي في مركز وصول لحقوق الإنسان من قبل مخابرات #الجيش_اللبناني بأبلح بسبب نشاطه الحقوقي، كان مضربًا عن الطعام وتعرّض للضرب المبرح، بكافة أنحاء جسده، قبل إطلاق سراحه قبل قليل.
المركز سيصدر بيانًا حول حالة احتجازه الأسبوع القادم.

We just went out to search for water. Water has been cut since Saturday and all the reserves and water we bought ran out. The few open stores are out of water. Streets are full of people carrying empty containers looking for water. We found a well where people are getting water.

This is just staggeringly out of touch -- the world has more evidence to prosecute #Assad than we had against #Hitler after WW2.
The idea that normalizing #Assad is going to bring "stability" is totally illogical -- not for refugees, insurgency, terrorism, economic crisis etc.
