I have a genuine feeling that within my lifetime we will see the wholesale abandonment of universal suffrage and "democracy" as we know it. We're already seeing the consolidation of American governance to the executive at the federal level. Likely other nations will follow suit of Singapore, El Salvador, and China. Nobody wants to admit it yet, but Fascism won the 20th century, it just rebranded itself.

Libertarianism in theory requires Lee Kuan Yew in practice. Order and borders are prerequisites for liberty and prosperity. Tolerance and internationalism enables trade and capitalism. Pragmatism about the scope of the state minimizes the scope of the state.

The Left wants to wield power and the Right wants to be free from it. What do people who want to be free from power do? They certainly don’t spend their money constructing vast ideological patronage networks for the explicit purpose of creating a vanguard who are committing to seizing political power. If Conservative donors do anything in the field of politics, they simply fund campaigns for libertarian-minded politicians who will “cut taxes” and “get the government out of their life.” Meanwhile, Leftist donors will spend vast sums of money doing nothing but molding entire generations of political activists who know how to do nothing but agitate for state power. Is it really any surprise that things continuously move further and further to the Left with time? They essentially have no real opposition, just a bunch of disorganized people who want to escape politics rather than engage in it.

When I was at TAC, we published a piece by someone who lived in Brazil who mentioned that her black Brazilian friends were constantly being invited by the Ford Foundation to come to the U.S. for fully funded fellowships in anti-racism. This was in the 1990s.

@ChristianHeiens Institutional capture only works on people who trust the institutions because they are unable or unwilling to think on their own. Yes, that is the largest group in any society, but it is never 100%. Not even close.

The institutional power imbalance between the Left and Right is so lopsided towards the former that it’s truly astonishing they haven’t yet managed to completely indoctrinate close to 100% of the population into being progressive libtards. Believe it or not, but that’s actually a Whitepill. Even with near-total institutional capture and almost no organized opposition, they can’t force a majority of the population to adopt this worldview for their own.

@sjryanwriter @VVrvot @Templarpilled But you still need the average man to work so that his betters have resources to create brilliant new things. And the best mechanism for that is gatekeeping women behind success.

@curtis_yarvin once had an interesting thought experiment. He said if 1920's America emerged from the ocean, Atlantis-like, in the 2020's - what would happen? Within 10 years it would become by far the richest and most powerful country on earth and would kick the asses of 2020's USA and China. I suspect this is basically right. High energy, ambitious, hardened population used to hustling and working 12 hours a day and constantly inventing stuff. High levels of patriotism, above replacement birth rates, etc. But would this society inevitably turn into our own?

Ah yes. The humane Marxists. Who rather than instantly dragging you before the firing squad, write page long essays of carefully thought through analysis on why you deserve to be dragged in front of a firing squad.

Has he even tried to read Critical Theory? Or even approach the more interesting question: why does he unconsciously presupposes "humanity" as ultimate abstract value opposed to concrete human beings?

Just played Root with my game design class. It's the best way to teach them about asymmetry. You have 4 factions who are basically all playing a different game on the same board. The Vagabond is playing an RPG. The cats are playing an engine building euro. The birds are playing a wargame where you have to pre-program your turns. The Woodland Alliance are playing like the insurgents in a COIN game and spreading sympathy gradually before sparking revolts. Every time I play this with a group of students they love it. Really shows them what's possible with asymmetric wargame design.

In Holland, doctors have killed over 100,000 patients, calling it euthanasia. bit.ly/4uxndfg. A psychiatrist argued that psychiatric euthanasia reduces the risk of suicide. So, if we killed all people, there would be no suicides, right? I find it horrible that doctors kill, whether without consent by forced treatment with antipsychotics, or with consent.

@FoundationDads I can see perhaps only one argument for sending your child to school - to learn how people work and spend some time with kids their age. For increasing number of people school may be the only occassion for this. Maybe alternatives will emerge, but so far I see none.

"You aren't qualified to homeschool your children." "Interesting. I need a graduate degree to teach my child 3rd-grade math?" "No, but you need to understand how children learn, different learning styles, and teaching methods." "How about I just get to know my child, and how he learns will become apparent very quickly." "No. You're ignoring classroom management techniques." "...Not sure I need classroom management techniques for my living room." "But you need to be an expert in teaching to teach your children?" "Will that guarantee better outcomes?" "Absolutely not. In fact, in most places, outcomes are getting worse with every passing year." "Sooo...what's the point?" "The point is that I spent time and money on a degree and you can't just go and do things without my approval it's totally not fair."

@ChristianHeiens And the answer is that it is the shareholders. Directors and studios used to depend on their reputation and quality of the product to stay in business using client money. Now they depend on the opinion of outsiders who bankroll them. Only alternative is staying indie forever /2

@ChristianHeiens I am actually skeptical about propaganda finding its way into movies and games being a primary cause of them getting worse. Both are symptoms of a more fundamental problem. You have to ask how something so unentertaining could be included in professional entertainment. 1/

These people went after everything from video games to subreddits because that which can influence culture is fair game in a democratically organized society. If "the people" decide where power lies, then anything that influences how "the people" think and behave is the primary target for an ideology obsessed with acquiring power. And it's not like they love these things. Leftists usually hate the very things they colonize, but that isn't the point. You don't have to love something to control it. In short, democracy is the reason almost all video game communities have been invaded by troons moralizing about the eternal progressive omnicause.
