It is a clever and smart solution to a problem that doesn't need to exist in the first place.

When I ran for City Council, one reason I ran was to make sure we got good design in Merriam. I know that the city doesn't have a lot of control over private development, but we provided a lot of tax incentives for this project and this is bad design.

@WhitForMerriam I would love to hear how much @LouisLa68329799 thinks the city should spend to subsidize the construction/operation of a grocery store to bring one to town.

@WhitForMerriam The city is trying to find a grocer who would be willing to come to town but it has been difficult given the adjacent stores. I don't know what the right amount of subsidy the city should give a private business to bring them to town, but the last deal wasn't it.
