A notice of Motion to Impeach the Governor of Meru Pursuant to Standing Order No.65 of Meru Standing Orders, Article 181 of the Constitution and Section 33 of the County Governments Act was tabled today by Hon. Evans Mawira Kaaria the Majority Leader of the County Assembly.

Today the Sectoral Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Cohesion invited H.E the Deputy Governor of Meru , Rev. Isaac Mutuma M'Ethingia to shed light on two letters he had written to the Assembly as per the Standing Orders.

A report of the Sectoral Committee on Labour, Public Service and Social Welfare on the consideration of Nominees to the Selection Panel of Meru County which shall recruit the CEO of the Meru County Public Service Board.

A Motion to consider and adopt the report on the Meru County Budget Estimates for the Financial Year 2023/2024 was tabled today by the Chairperson Select Committee on County Budget and Appropriations, Hon. Jacob Mwirigi

Rest In Peace Hon. George Mutuuria Kaliunga (Balala). The Security Organs ought to ensure no further life or property is lost as a result of the ongoing unrest at the County boundaries. The late is immediate former MCA for Antobetwe - Kiongo having been elected for 3 terms.

Earlier today the Assembly adjourned the Sitting to voice their concerns on the escalating insecurities on the County boundaries that have led to loss of lives and property among them Late Hon. George Kaliunga, the immediate former MCA for Antobetwe-Kiongo Ward in Igembe North.

The debate on the Report of the Sectoral Committee on Lands, Economic and Physical Planning on the Meru County Annual Development Plan 2023/2024 started today during the Morning Sitting.

Earlier during the Morning sitting, pupils from Top Achievers Primary School in Igembe East Ward visited and followed proceedings from the Public Gallery.

Today, the Sectoral Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Cohesion held a consultative meeting with Ombudsman Kenya pertaining the ongoing clashes between Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties'.

Hon. Members have today resumed Sittings after a short recess to discharge their Constitutional Duties.

Day 2 of Vetting Meru's Chief Officers went on smoothly without a hitch. We await reports of the various committees on the exercise.
