Wueh! Today, we have witnessed something very unfortunate. The President of the Republic, the Head of State has stooped so low as to insult and body shame a fellow Kenyan. And not just any Kenyan, but a man who has remained consistently respectful to him in his public engagement, even while raising critical questions of national importance. Instead of addressing Fred Matiang’i’s very valid concern as to why the State House budget has ballooned to Ksh 17 billion, even as capitation to schools is reduced, and as our national referral hospitals struggle with broken equipment and inadequate support for patients, the response we get is insults? This is a new low, even by the standards we have unfortunately come to expect. All in all, Matiang’i’s question still stands, untouched by insults and distractions. What exactly is Ksh 17 billion at State House being used for?

It is with deep pain I have learnt of the passing on of former Cabinet Minister and ex-Lugari MP Hon. Cyrus Jirongo following a tragic road accident along Nairobi- Nakuru Highway. As Lugari MP from 1997–2002 and 2007–2013, Jirongo served his Lugari Constituents with dedication.

I am now, without an iota of doubt, persuaded that this regime has gone mad and has lost its moral compass. Throwing caution to the wind, heavily armed police officers and state-sponsored militia have stormed the home of our DCP candidate, Hon. Douglas Masikonde, in Narok Town and violently attacked him and his agents, who were undergoing training. It is now clear that plans to stuff ballot papers are complete and our agents are being intimidated to subvert the sovereign will of the people. This is an attempt to deny the people of Narok Town their constitutional right to elect a candidate of their choice and to force the UDA candidate upon them. I appeal to the people of Narok Town to stay calm and turn out to vote despite the many hurdles being placed in their way.
