money doesn’t buy happiness, but it definitely buys better healthcare. comfort. more options. i just spent 14 hours in emergency after a health scare. no bed, no food, no water offered, no one checking how i was doing, rude treatment, and when i asked about my last test this morning, i was told i was being ungrateful for the healthcare. i was also refused my own test results and constantly reminded that someone else was “more important” than me. i left. i’m stable and the bleeding stopped, but they still didn’t find the cause, so i’ll have to continue the tests privately. i feel a bit embarrassed sharing medical details online, but this can happen to anyone, and i think you deserve to know the reason behind my posts yesterday. thank you to everyone who commented or messaged me. i’m exhausted and will reply when i get some rest.

reality check after my “100x happier if you live in italy” post italy is beautiful until you actually need medical help. 4+ hours in pronto soccorso in milano with continuous bleeding, got triaged as base urgency, and still sitting here waiting while being told i’m young so i can wait. i’m stable, but the experience is honestly scary, frustrating, and a reminder that living somewhere beautiful doesn’t mean everything works beautifully.
