@thsottiaux I conducted a straightforward SSH live CSS edit to adjust a logo's position by 30 pixels on a site that was 100% vibe-coded. This was a basic file edit performed solely to evaluate its utility, and it resulted in a 9% usage loss. It's current functionality impedes productivity.

@thsottiaux We need more transparency; it's feeling more like Claude with how inconsistent the usage is. I run the exact same task every single day, and with every update, Codex is using 3% more weekly usage per run, nearly 11% more in the space of four weeks.

@pippaisright Copper should have slammed him on his head. What kind of messed-up world are we living in where people want to see a scumbag get the upper hand?

@thsottiaux I'm still getting errors for code previews, resulting in more tooling and screenshots. It's burning through credits, Sarge!

@thsottiaux I'm having to back up in between edits because it's making edits we've not requested during edits we have requested. It's currently ruined 2 commerce sites by removing structured directories and editing in "free will mode." Please look into this, as it's close to hallucinations

@thsottiaux @sflorimm I love Codex, but with every update, my tokens either deplete faster or I get more reconnecting errors. It's starting to feel like my claude subscription.

Codex team is aware of reports of GPT-5.5 performing worse for some users and investigating. We don't have anything conclusive yet and systems are healthy but we will share updates as we go.

@thsottiaux Can we bring stronger design capabilities to Codex? I still find Claude far ahead when it comes to design output, even on High+. It almost feels like Codex has no real design intuition built in. What takes 10 prompts in Codex often takes just 1 in Claude.

@claudeai @SpaceX Too little, too late. Codex 5.5 = Mythos. More tokens, better usage, better communication. It'll be shovelware come 2027.

We’ve agreed to a partnership with @SpaceX that will substantially increase our compute capacity. This, along with our other recent compute deals, means that we’ve been able to increase our usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API.

@thsottiaux I'm running into a lot of errors again, on simple tasks rather than complex ones. Editing a one-page pipeline can take 15% of the usage before I have to use Claude, then I can run Vulcan notes and it completes it with ease. Unfortunately for me, I run more simple tasks.

With some small tweaks, Codex can work for days on hard tasks. We will release some changes to make this easier to use for everyone. What’s the hardest task you’ve seen GPT-5.5 succeed at?

@thsottiaux @chadptg The session usage has changed, hasn't it? I run the same commands day in, day out, and they are using 4% more than before per command. That's an awful lot of change, glossed over with a rate reset underlining.

@nathantweet @klobrille Upgrading incrementally is a lot worse in terms of money. Let's take DDR: spend another $300 for an 8% upgrade. For a GPU, spend another $500 for a 15% fps boost. It should be powerful out of the box. To be honest, hardware isn't getting better; software is.

One selling point for the next console would be the ability to upgrade it for the geeks who like to do that… more memory… better GPU…. No prob just buy those part(s) and easily install them. It would also save people a lot of money to be able to incrementally improve their console experience like they want. It would bring the hardcore feeling back to being an Xbox gamer. And of course it’s something that PlayStation likely won’t be able to do.

Microsoft/Xbox is saying a lot of right things now. That is great. At the end of the day, it’s the execution that matters. I stand by my stance on this. I never doubted the hardware team for a second. They’ll deliver a fantastic, quality console. The bigger challenge remains: you need to give Xbox back its identity and reasons to go with Xbox in the first place. Exclusives are one part of the story, plus multiple other aspects. Xbox once felt like the rebellion in this industry. You need to become that competitor again.

EXCLUSIVE: Here's the full quotes from Satya Nadella to Xbox at an internal townhall Q&A. 🧬 "We're long on gaming. We'll continue to invest, and we'll always do so." Nadella had some GREAT comments here internally. - Talked about fighting back against doomscrolling with active-engagement hobbies like gaming. - Repeatedly talked up console hardware. - Acknowledged fan feedback and passion for Xbox. - Team seems very re-energized here.
