Just some Fellas chillin'

Over the past few weeks and months, I have re-positioned the channel and thought about next steps: 1) Team Cryptocito is now a team of three core members as well as our editing team @CryptoEditsYT that works very closely with us. The process from sourcing content ideas and turn them into engaging, educational videos is now more and more seamless. Onboarding the right people is probably one of the most challenging thing as a founder but I'm very glad to work with @Habibi_Cito since well over 1.5 years and @LeThang137 who joined us 2 months ago. Growing the team in a bear market and onboarding more people into Cosmos is what I'm most proud of. 2) Background I started creating Crypto content irregularly sometime in 2018/19. In February of 2020, I then had the idea to start Cryptocito but with no clear direction. I just wanted to start sharing my experiences from making a lot of money and then losing it all in my (back then) 4 years in Crypto. It served well and I learned a lot about content creation itself. In late 2020 I then stumbled upon Cosmos after @jackzampolin onboarded me - which I'm forever grateful for, it really changed my life 🫶🏼 It was a very organic process and initially, I didn't have the intention to focus on Cosmos only. However, within months, I resonated more and more with the philosophy of Cosmos' Appchain model and especially IBC. I believe in interoperability since 2018 and am convinced that there's no winner to take it all - but rather an internet of sovereign networks that are all able to seamlessly communicate to each other. Cosmos welcomed me with open arms, even though it was extremely hard to get a foot into the ecosystem. Why is that? That's because Cosmos is very bottom-up. It's very unique in that sense since most Crypto projects are very top-down with one core organization that runs the show. Fast forward to today, after having interviewed and covered pretty much every Cosmos project over the past 2.5 years, I feel that Cosmos is at a point to gain critical adoption but needs a bit of a narrative push and more alignment. 3) Purpose Hence, our purpose moving forward is to branch out and establish more connections with other ecosystems in Crypto while maintaining Cosmos at the core. The Cosmos philosophy really envisions an internet of blockchains, but instead of just focussing on Cosmos-native L1s and dApps, there also needs to be more connections to alternative L1 ecosystems. A lot of it is on the way, but what's missing is a platform to foster these synergies and educate the broader Crypto community (not just Cosmonauts) on whole idea of IBC, interoperability, the appchain thesis as well as all the innovations such as replicated security, superfluid staking or mesh security for instance. That means: no more interviews with founders in Cosmos. If I do livestream interviews, it would probably be a debate format with a Cosmos founder and somebody from another ecosystem, or a VC (watch out for VanEck-Cito 2 coming up soon!). We will focus much more on high quality production and well researched content to share the alpha and onboard more people into the Cosmos ecosystem - and into Crypto generally speaking. Now let's move on to a very difficult topic ... 4) Monetization Monetization as a content creator really sucks. To be honest, I think it's actually one of the most thankless jobs in Crypto: Youtube revenue is negligible unless you have millions of subs and hundreds of thousands of views per video; Non-creators feel entitled to tell you how to run your channel; Most solid projects don't feel the need to sponsor because they think their tech is strong enough and they don't need it; Paywall-gated content can lead to the exclusion of the broader audience and so on... So what's left is really a totally unsustainable business model that most people expect you to run for free anyways because they think it's easy to do. Just record a video and yallah. The reality, however, (at least in my case) is that there's extreme efforts and work behind every single video. From having the idea to gathering the information to preparing the video, recording it, editing it, uploading it, distributing it, promoting it. In addition, Cryptocito has evolved into a proper entity that is registered (now in Dubai) which means there's operational expenses, taxes, salaries, production cost and so on. My bottom line: Something must happen for content creators. I am speaking of personal experience but also on behalf of many legit creators that put in the work, efforts and time but barely get any recognition for it. It's sad and a missed opportunity in my view. Cosmos could really take the lead to fix that in this decentralized economy we're trying to build. I would love to personally contribute and have some ideas but I simply don't have the capacity at the moment (content, validator, cosmoverse). For us, we are currently in the process of partnering with projects (inside and outside of Cosmos) to 1) provide value to our sponsors and help onboard more people into the ecosystem but also 2) to be able to sustain and most importantly 3) to be able to keep growing. We will announce the first two sponsors very shortly! 5) Growth My mission is to evolve Cryptocito into a content powerhouse that serves as a platform to onboard hundreds of thousands of people into Crypto. For that, we need to constantly be on top of the things and be mindful of who we onboard and what strategic moves we make. There are also a lot of unknown variables and risks. For example, right now my entire channel is focussed on Cosmos. What if there's an issue with IBC? What if Cosmos just never gains true mass adoption and fades into irrelevance? I am betting my entire career on this. Yes, I am convinced that I'm on the right train, but I want you to really understand that this is pretty much existential risk that I am taking here. That said, our goal as a team is to really elevate ourselves, keep having fun (that's literally the most important thing) and think of ways on how to grow both the team and the channel. It is not easy right now given the market circumstances but we will keep pushing through this and come out of it stronger. The goal is to reach 100k subs (which is a 3x from now) and increase engagement, viewer retention and broaden the audience. We want to achieve this by the end of this year but realistically speaking, this would require a Crypto bull run or at least a #CosmoSzn 👀 I know we'll eventually get there and after all, I just want to keep enjoying the process, the hassle, the learnings and the successes! Thanks everyone who has supported me over the years, it really means a lot. - Cito
