We just watched this. In my best Barry Norman voice, it’s absolute bollocks. But, if your wife is like mine you have to watch it coz it’s got the bloke from Reacher in it. Can’t see what Mrs W sees in him. I bet he can’t make her laugh. Young people, google Barry Norman.

I was a firearms officer too Andy (for over 20 years), and I'm glad to say I never had to disarm an active terrorist who had just stabbed members of the public. My training was simple (and probably very similar to yours): if a suspect was not complying with commands to disarm and drop a knife, and I had formed an honest held belief that there was an imminent threat to life, the suspect would be shot until the imminent threat to life was no more. Not Tasered. Not kicked in the head. Shot. Aiming at the centre body mass. In all probability, lethal force being used. These officers were exceeding brave. If that suspect could have got back up off the floor, still armed with the knife, he could have killed and / or seriously injured many more people in a frenzied attack - including the officers - in a very short space of time. These unarmed officers could not take that risk. Using the NDM, it is clear to all sensible and knowledgeable people that the use of force utilised in these circumstances - including the kicks to the head - was fully justified. These officers are heroes, and deserve our full admiration and praise.
Andy George@andygeorgeni

@sarahknapton @JackJDees I have been a police officer for nearly 27 years, was on OFC in ARVs for 10 years and worked on the national taser course in 2022. I don't ever remember being trained to kick someone in the head, although any use of force can be justified in certain circumstances

I dare you to try to stop us marching, @Keir_Starmer. To try to stop us chanting. To try to stop us calling out the holocaust of Palestinians by Nazi Israel. You will never, EVER succeed. Fuck you, fuck the Met, fuck Israel, fuck Zionism and - above all else - FREE PALESTINE. 🇵🇸

4 years ago this little fella was found abandoned in a barn in a very desperate state. Sam went to his rescue and admitted it was touch and go as he was so very ill. Well, after lots of love, attention & mischievous behaviour we think he’s done ok. Happy birthday Jonesy.

Reminder again that these are NOT Met police officers. They are IDF-trained Jewish vigilantes known as "Shomrim". They operate in Jewish communities throughout Europe and North America, posing as police without any standardized training or accountability.

We must stand with @ZackPolanski at this critical moment. The Establishment and their minions are telling us to reject the evidence of our eyes and ears.

I’ve done the same training as they have and the only excuse for this is blind panic. When this happens you make sure you’re not sharing their shift pattern because they’ll land you in the sh1t one day.

The Green Party, headed by @ZackPolanski, is set to make significant gains in London. The chief of @metpoliceuk decided he’s not happy with this and so publicly attacked the Leader of @TheGreenParty a week before elections. Mark Rowley must resign and the Metropolitan Police must issue an apology immediately for this blatant political interference made worse by Rowley’s interview this morning.

@owenjonesjourno The protocol would be to shoot them in the head. However, given that that’s not an option it’s either do whatever you can or run away. Doing whatever you can takes real guts especially if at any point there might be a big bang and you’re dead. Does that make it clear?

Hold on - what? If police officers think someone might be carrying explosives, protocol is to kick them in the head repeatedly like this? Is that actual police protocol? If so, how is it a wise police protocol? Can someone explain the reasoning?
Sky News@SkyNews

.@KamaliMelbourne: 'The video of the Golders Green terror attack arrest shows the officers kicking this individual in the head. Is that appropriate force to use?' Met Police Commissioner: "In most situations it wouldn't be reasonable, but in that situation it was reasonable."

The Sun reports with zero evidence that the psychotic man who stabbed two people in Golders Green “regularly attended pro-Palestinian demos,” despite the fact that days prior he was still on indefinite hold in a secure psychiatric hospital. This was not an antisemitic attack.

@owenjonesjourno You don’t like it when the Police stand up for themselves do you? A retweet shows you support the content of said tweet……or are you not clever enough to understand that?

The Metropolitan Police denouncing a party leader a week before elections - over a retweet. This is outrageous. Forget what you think about the retweet. If you accept this sort of police interference in our democracy, you legitimise a deeply disturbing precedent.

For more than 25 years, the Metropolitan Police has been repeatedly found by independent investigations to be institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic. The brass neck is staggering. As Commissioner, Mark Rowley’s job is to serve the public, not to make political attacks. Shame on him.

All crimes are horrible. But when certain incidents receive nonstop coverage, sympathy and condemnation while an entire genocide is treated like background noise, it reveals something deeply unsettling about global empathy.

@2147mill The tax system needs a complete overhaul. However as things are now….the government are making a lot of money. They bang on about windfall tax on oil companies but how much have they made on VAT on the fuel increases alone. And don’t get me started on 45p per mile…..

£20,000. That's been the Stocks and Shares ISA allowance since 2017. In the same period: Inflation has risen 28%+ House prices have risen 30%+ Average salaries have risen 24% The allowance? £20,000. Unchanged. Unmoved. Quietly worth less every single year. In real terms your ISA allowance is already £5,000 smaller than it was in 2017. The government didn't cut the ISA allowance. They just let inflation do it for them. Should the £20,000 ISA allowance be inflation linked? Very curious to hear thoughts on this.

Pretty sure we can all agree that tasing a cunt who’s stabbed a couple of people is proprtionate. But call me a wuss if you want, I reckon taking it in turns to kick him in the head when he’s down is, well, let’s just say “a bit much”.

A suspect physically can not let go of anything in their hands while being electrocuted because of muscle contraction...no matter how much you shout or kick and stamp on his head. Does your training not tell you that?
Metropolitan Police@metpoliceuk

Our brave officers confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent, and who continued to pose a clear threat. Using only their training, courage and tasers, they detained him while he continued to try to attack and stab them. This took true courage.
